Your career and special talents or likes

On another forum this question was posted and I thought it would be a great way for all of us to get to know one another better. After all we will be with one another over the next few months sharing the joys of our Feb babies. I will start:

Well, I have my degree in criminal justice and I work as a medical fraud investigator from my home based office. I get the joy of determining based on countless medical records which doctors/facilities/hospitals are commiting fraud and trying to scam the govt and ins companies out of millions of dollars. I am a credentialed CFE certified fraud examiner and CPC certified professional coder. I work alongside the SIU (special investigations unit) of major INS companies. I also used to work in the SIU however when I got preggers with Quinn and decided daycare was not the route I wanted to take I transitioned to a home based position.

For those that have known me a long time on MedHelp (been here since 2005) my screen name used to be Harley-girl. So that should clue in my love of riding motorcycles. :) I also love tattoos and have 12 of them. Working on getting the hubby a full sleeve before I add to my collection.

Also love reading and going to craft fairs. :)

Greetings all!  My name is Jenn! I live in NY and I work for the Attorney General's Office.  I like it okay, but it is my career path.  I worked in child care for 10 years and decided that I wanted something more. So, I went back to school (6 classes left) for my BA in Community and Human Services.  Hopefully, I would like to some day get into CPS or Office of Children and Family Services.

I have been married to my absolute best friend for almost 2 years and we have been together almost 4.  I am proud to say that we met on the internet and have never regretted it once. Many people in our lives have frowned upon the internet thing but we are here to prove them wrong.  This is our first child and we could not be more thrilled!

I think I am a typical woman...I like to shop, watch movies, hang with friends.  I used to own my own business making customized gift baskets, but with economy the way it is, I decided to discontinue the business and just do them at free will.  Maybe I will continue it after the baby is born. Who knows?

Loved getting to know you all!

OK, my turn.  I'm a speech-language pathologist.  I was in private practice working with automobile accident victims with brain injuries when I was hit by Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) after a miscarriage and had to close my practice.  I was planning on starting up again in September after over a year's absence, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm going to wait until the baby is around 6 months old.  I love my work and look forward to getting back to it after such a long absence.

Recreationally, I used to be very active and loved climbing and backpacking.  It remains my dream to thru hike the Appalachian Trail.  Since the GBS, I haven't been able to be active so it's another thing I look forward to in the future (being active, that is).

I also love animals and have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a bird (17 years old).  I also run a dog rescue.

I've been with my dh for 24 years.  We got pregnant (inseminated) on our wedding anniversary and will deliver some time between my birthday and his.  This baby is an absolute miracle to us.

I got my undergraduate degree in technical journalism/public relations and my master's in sports management.  I am currently working as a public relations specialist in collegiate sports.  Been doing this since I was 20 years old and have worked in both professional and collegiate athletics.  Nights and weekends make the job schedule a bit harder to juggle, especially with a kid on the way and my SO being a restaurant manager....but I love a challenge!

I am an adventure seeker.  I have done everything from rock climbing to sky diving and everything in between.  I live in Huntington Beach, CA (Surf CIty USA) and surfing is one thing I have never done, go figure!  I tend to find something exciting and stick with it for a year or two and then move on to a new hobby.  Running marathons was my latest adventure.  I have run two full and three half and plan on doing another full once I have my little one....motivation to get me back in shape.  HA!

The little one will be joining my boyfriend of five years and our dog and cat in our beach condo in California.

Sorry...I was out of town this past weekend!

I am an in-home child care provider. I have done so many jobs in the past because I am always finding a new interest or love to pursue. I have a BS in Early Childhood Development and a certificate in ASL (basically, I only took the beginning courses..I still have about 10 classes to get my Associate's Degree in Interpreting/Transliterating, which I would love to do, but time and money are some serious obstacles right now.

I have 2 cats (we lost one last Thanksgiving) and unfortunately, one of them is going to be leaving us soon, I'm afraid. He's about 16-18 years old and is just having a rough time of it. It's a very hard decision to make and one that I am hoping will be taken from my hands, to be honest!

We are in the process of trying to sell our house and move to the suburbs, where I have always imagined living and raising a family.  Hoping that we get an offer any day (fingers crossed!!!) and we can start looking for our dream home!

I also have a side home business that I just ADORE...selling Scentsy (you can visit my website at w w w dot scentsy *******/lizbees. It is a wickless candle product that utilizes a low-wattage bulb so that there is no fire hazard, safe for children and pets and is SCENTsational!! HAHA!!

All of that and 21 weeks with my first baby is enough for me right now :)

Sorry ladies.I dont get on on the weekends.

As for me, I am a Personal Accounting Rep. I work for a Financial Investment company delaing with fortune 1000 companies. I suprisingly love my job. Our clients are great! The only part about my job that I dont like is not being able to be home with my daugther every day..that kills me.

I too love animals, I have 2 dogs and 4 cats, however, we have made the decision that once these animals have left us, we will go down to only having 1. With 1 baby and 1 on the way, too many animals is costly.

DH and I have been together 7+ years, married for 3! I love my life!

Sorry! I don't get a lot of time to type if DS is awake lol...

As for me, I am a Massage Therapist and I work at a massage franchise. I love it there! I had to go through 2 very cra ppy chiropractic jobs to finally find a good employer lol :-) I also have my degree in technical studies, which isn't anything in particular but basically I took a bunch of science/anatomy courses and psychology courses and got this degree. But the college didn't have a minor in these so I had to pick technical studies. I was originally in nursing school, but as a nurse aide for 6yrs, I got tired of being underpaid and understaffed all the time, not to mention dealing with the upperhand at hospitals! So here I am :-)

I LOVE animals! I love horseback riding and canoeing and basically being outside when the weather is nice...both DH and I grew up on farms so we can't wait until we move! I also love reading =)
