yes i am definitely going to rest as much as possible.. if i could id be in bed until my next appointment i definitely would.. but i would get restless at some pointand i still have to work..good thing i can sit down almost the whole time. my dr also told me that my cervix was an option of where the bleeding is coming from but nothing is certain. i just hope the blood clots pass and dont cause any trouble.

I agree with rccresswell. At 10wks I had dark red blood that turned to brown spotting. From that week until the day before my 16th wk mark I had bleeding and spotting everday at least once a day but ultrasounds showed everything to be fine. Doc thinks it is my cervix but no confirmation of where bleeding came from has been found. He also told me to stay on bedrest, no sex, and plenty of fluids. I am now a couple days into my 17th week and fingers crossed that the bleed/spot stays away. Definitely take it easy!

I think you should go on bed rest just to be safe.  Gosh that is a harsh reality with what they said.  We all hope everything goes ok but do rest :)

thanks for the info.. i just got back from the doctor's and it turns out that i have some blood clotting behind my placenta. so i have a level 2 ultrasound scheduled in two weeks at a perinatal diagnostic center. they will be able to tell me more about whats going on. until them i was told not to do anything strenous especially sex. so we'll see. but at this point they said that if i had a mis-carriage they wouldnt be able to save the baby. hopefully all goes well at the next appointment.

I wouldnt worry about it unless it filled your underware or a panty liner. But to reassure yourself you could always call your OB and get checked out. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I haven't heard anything about it being normal.  I'm sure it can happen but I would give your doctor a call and check it out.
