We pierced Carly's ears at the beginning of November! I think I was more nervous than she was! She did fantastic! We took her to Claire's as well. She cried for MAYBE a minute, then was more interested in her sippy cup than anything else! It's been almost a month & so far, she still doesn't care about them. She'll feel them every now & then, but has better things to do!
WE DID IT! The girls got their ears pierced and they are doing awesome with them. It's been 2 weeks now and no infection or problems. We brought them to Claire's and the woman did a fantastic job. I did ask my pediatrician like some others mentioned if they pierced ears and they looked at me like I was retarded or something LOL! I would not ask your ped unless you are sure they pierce ears. All in all I am very excited and I know that the girls will love it too when they get older and see pictures of themselves.
Yeah for some reason s u c k s is always bleeped out on medhelp. It's silly and especially difficult when you are trying to write something about breastfeeding and have to write it with a space in between s u c k s indeed ;). Ellie s u c k s her toes too lol so funny!!
**** wasn't meant to be rude I wrote s u c k s her toes and it turned out like that
Ella doesn't pull at her ears but ***** her toes lol
Our girls arent pulling on their ears yet. Just their little piggy's (toes). I think its a good time before they start. I can't wait!
Thanks for the advice, I will mention is to our Ped at the next appt.
Trh is right many peds pierce in office. What happen to chapina's little girl is exactly why I won't do it yet
rccreswell - you are not alone. We won't get her ears pierced until she decides she wants them pierced. For those of you considering-- ask your pediatrician. Mine pierces ears in the office.
I pierced Sophia's ears in July and she was fine, she did cry at the moment they pierced them but then she got over it. I had them done at Claires, the problem I faced is that she tugs on her ears, so she did remove one of her earings, and by the time I tried to put it back in it had closed and I didn't dare try to force it. So now she is walking around with one pierced ear :/ I will pierce her ear again when she stops the habit of pulling on her ear.
Claire's does it & a friend of mine who has twins, took her daughter to a place at our local mall when she was 6 months old & they did a good job. I'm worried I have waited too late as an infant because she's into everything & getting her to sit still long enough is a challenge. I may have to wait until she's a little older and can understand "still". But, maybe there's still hope :)
When she is old enough to ask for herself then yes I will. Right now while she pulls on everything and puts everything in her mouth I won't I'm afraid they would get infected it she would rip it out or they would fall out and she could poke her eye out of swallow the earring. But when she is old enough to ask and want it then sure. It's not that big of a deal IMO I got it done it didn't hurt wasn't traumatic or anything. And yes Claires or any of those mall places will do it.
brandi - like you I also want to pierce my girls' ears. I'm just dragging my feet. Also, I dont even know where you would bring them to get it done. Any ideas? Maybe Claires but it might be hard to get them to stay still. The only thing I am worried about is them grabbing at their ears and possibly getting them infected. Thanks for your inputs ladies!
My dh wants to but I say no. I got them but only when I was old enuff to decide myself.
Umh I think I might be the only one that won't get my baby's ears pierced. Personal opinion!!! I have never liked it and will never do it for my girls. When my girls are old enough to want them themselves I am happy for them to get it done but I wouldn't make that decision for them.
Sorry to be a downer about the subject :(
Me!!! It's just a matter of when I can build up the courage to do it ;) I think it will hurt me more than Carly, but I want to get them done so she won't remember it! I was 6 when I had mine done and I remember being so scared out of my mind!
