gestational diabetes...

Does or did anybody else that has or had gestational diabetes ever have to take a pill or shot? My Dr didn't really explain ALOT to me and was wondering everyone else's opinion.

oh and they send you to a dietintion and adult diabetes  education  center to teach you what to eat and how to test.

i have GD and im able to manage  mine with diet and exercise alone. im about 5  weeks in. my dr discussed using insulin or meds if i couldn't  control my levels without but didn't  learn much else about since i didn't  need it. they normally  have you monitor  your blood sugars for three to four days with diet modifications and see what your sugar levels are like. if they are within the limits  they let you continue  that route and if not they implement  medication. your fasting sugars ( first thing in the morning  before food) are really important typically  if those are high then they start meds pretty fast.
