Could I be miscarrying?

by imdeb, Jul 08, 2008 05:07PM
The first 8 weeks of my pregnancy I was nauseas often, had tender breast and they looked fuller, and had extreme fatigue.  After my 8 th week I rarely get nauseas, and my breasts aren't as sensitive or as full. However, now I get headaches( not too bad), I get tired easily but it's not as extreme, and I definitely feel like my uterus has gotten bigger. Is it normal that my symptoms have decreased at 8 weeks?  Has anyone else had this happen? If so, can you tell me how everything turned out?  By the way, I am in my 11th week.  Also, I had an ultrasound at 7 in a half weeks and it looked normal, and had a heart beat.  I also have an appointment on Friday and I am so nervous.

All my symptoms died down around the 12 week mark. My breasts were barely sore and even though I never got sick, I had still be nautious..  By my 12 week appointment I realized this wasn't the case anymore. I just listened to the baby's heartbeat a few days ago and I was almost 14 weeks at that point. I I think that if something 'bad' happened in your 8th week you would have known by this time (3 weeks later). As long as you aren't bleeding I wouldn't worry. I bet your just starting to panic because your appointment is so near. That is normal to do. I still lay in fear with the "what ifs" when they look for the heartbeat..

With my first pregnancy, my symptoms weren't as severe as I thought they would be (I expected to be puking every day only to end up feeling nauseous in the afternoon/evening instead!).  This seemed to let up a little after my 8th week and I also noticed my breasts were not as sore anymore.  Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks, when of course, I thought everything was fine because I was entering the second trimester when most symptoms could disappear.

However, with this pregnancy, my symptoms are still the same (nausea, breast tenderness, constipation), but they've been more consistent and have lasted longer.  This past week, I've noticed my nausea and constipation dying down, but in return I get occasional headaches.  I'm just hoping that the more constant symptoms this time around are a good sign.

Every woman is different and experiences pregnancy in their own way.  If you're really concerned, talk to your doctor and he/she can recommend what to do (have an ultrasound, etc).

I went today and I am happy to say I am healthy However, we had a scare for a short amount of time because we couldn't hear a heart beat with the doppler so I had an ultrasound and the heart rate was 154 so I am very happy all is well.
