Introducing myself

by birdiewebb, Jun 02, 2009 03:59PM
I am here to join you ladies today and to introduce myself. My name is Sarah and I have PCOS, Insulin Resistance, and RH Negative Factor. We just got the news that I am 7 weeks pregnant. My husband and I have tried for six years to get pregnant so needless to say we are extremely excited about our news but preserving it until we make it to the 3.5 month marker where we lost our first child in 2005. HcG count is well over 200 as of a week ago. Progesterone level is at a 16.5 tested same time as the HcG. We did our first test on Thursday, May 14th which was a home test. Lines were just barely showing on a home pregnancy test so we retested on Friday the 15th where the lines were a bit darker. I called my doctor to discuss my results of the home test and they set me up for blood work on Monday the 18th. My doctor called me at 8pm on Monday night because she said she couldn't wait to share the news because she knew we would be super excited. However, she also told us not to get to excited because the HcG levels at that time were at 149. She said that this could mean we were just barely pregnant or didn't have a viable pregnancy and that she wanted to do more testing to make sure. So on Tuesday, May 19th when did another blood draw and waited until Wednesday at 9am to get the results. The worst part of waiting!!! I was so stressed but tried to remain calm for the baby's sake. That is when they told me that my HcG was well over 200 and my progesterone levels were at 16.5. Doctor was very happy with these results! We are still pregnant and have our first intake/ob appointment on Thursday, June 4th. This is our story and look forward to knowing more of you!

It is going well so far. Love the fruits, salsa, and spinach sourdough dip :D This seems to be all I want to eat but can be high trouble for me as well. I am not supposed to eat sugars and no more then 40g of carbohydrates per day. This is really hard with the cravings I am getting :D. High anticipation as we want this so bad! Thanks for your support and I will post my news tomorrow afternoon.

Congratulations!!!  I'm wishing you a happy, HEALTHY 9 months.  I can't fathom what it must be like to wait for so long (I'm one of those "annoying" women who has been fortunate 2 times now to get pg. fairly easily), so I admire your strength!!!!! :-))

Thanks guys for your support!!! Doctor appointment went well today they are guessing 7 weeks and 6 days still until they do the ultrasound on the 24th of June. This was just the informational appointment about the medical history and family history. Will see my doctor then and everything looks great so far! We received lots of cool information and samples in their gift package they give you. I also had to go in for the labwork on the ob panel the initial panel testing. I'm a bit tired today been really stressed last night and this morning. My mom got in a carwreck yesterday with her new car. She is okay but the car is gonna be totaled we think. Truck driver backed into her on a fuel island of all places! Will let you know more as I know! Great to have the support thanks again!!!

Thanks! I appreciate everyone's support. I just found out this morning that the OB panel so far everything has come back perfect. HcG count they want a couple more draws on to watch for me to not have a miscarriage. She did tell me that the count last time was 212 and they wanna just make sure it is rising. Off to do another count and a WIC appointment. I will continue to post our news. Thanks again for the support here.

Progesterone levels came back this morning at 11 from a 16.5. The nurse called me immediately to tell me your in trouble. I am now required to take 100mg of progesterone vaginally for the next three months at least along with my metformin and prenatals. Scary ride for us!! Please keep us in your prayers that these levels come back up or we will loose another baby in our six years of trying. Thanks everyone for your support. HcG was not given to me at this time. Ultrasound is the 24th of June and we will have more of an idea what is going on then.

Doctor's office was called today. I had to ask them how soon I was supposed  to test the levels again. They said take the medicine for a solid week then we will recheck. Normals for the first trimester is 9-47ng/ml. We have a few points to work with! Keeping positive but trying to prepare just in case. So far, we haven't lost baby that we know of! Keeping our fingers crossed!! I will let you know.

Ultrasound day!!! We not only showed a healthy baby with a heartbeat but we have two. That's right TWINS!!! Doctor says all is going very well. I must remain on the progesterone support for four more weeks and then the placentas will take over. I will have to retest the levels in a week and a half. She comments that we are out of the woods and these babies will be here January 24, 2010. I am so happy and my stress levels have gone way down but now for the prep!! :D We are still in shock I think but are absolutely excited to know that they are both very healthy little ones!! Thanks everyone for your support!! Doctor says we are running almost two weeks behind what they thought for a delivery date. We are only 9weeks and 5days today!!
