Great News

Okay, so since 20 weeks my placenta has stayed stubbornly right next to my cervix. Last wednesday, I had my 36 week appointment. Doc wanted to go ahead and do one more ultrasound to see if it had moved yet, if not then we were going to discuss birthing options. Well, DH picked the best appt to go to. Or maybe it was him being with me that gave me the luck I needed. Anyway, little Jacob's head has been descending and has pushed the placenta up and out of the way enough that no c-section will be required. As a matter of a fact, doc is going to let me go on my own. I feel so much better now knowing that things are beginning to get better. The little guy was measuring 2 weeks ahead at 38 weeks and weighs about 7 lbs already.

Now that I am officially 37 weeks, DH and I are able to have sex again. This of course makes him very happy. We've had sex now twice and both times it triggers lower abdominal cramping. It hurts a bit worse than menstrual cramping. I wish the little guy could get here before x-mas. My daughter is going to her memaw's house (her real dad's mom's house) from Christmas through January 4th. I sure would like for her to be home to meet her baby brother when he makes his appearance instead of half a day away.

When they checked my cervix last wednesday, I was 2-3 cms. The doc told me that women who have had children before tend to be less dilated in the inner cervix then the outer. My outer cervix is 3 cms, but inner is only 2 cms. My next appt is Tuesday, I'm hoping that he tells me that I am 3-4 cms. Or that I have this baby by then.

I am at 37 weeks too but DH refuses to have sex cuz he doesn't want a December baby cuz it is too close to x-mas and it would suck for him.  I agree I just want to be done w/ x-mas so I can get going w/ the baby thing.  The idead of having sex at this point doesn't appeal to either of us.  He wants to but he doesn't want to chance it until January.  I can't say I'm really in the mood either, I feel like a hippo:(

Wow, that is great news.
I can truly relate about your daughter.  I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage.  She will be with her dad from Dec. 26 - Jan. 4.  I am not happy at all about that!  However, my concern now is that something will happen and she will miss the birth of her baby brother.  She will only be 1 1/2 hours away, but her father and I do not get along and I know he would not do anything to make it possible for her to be there.  Fortunately, I am not as far along as you.  I am just praying that it will not happen next week even though I am ready for it to happen!  I AM DONE!!!  :)

I so agree with Helen's comment...I haven't been on medical pelvic rest but it's really so difficult to even try!!!  DH said we would be jepordizing our future sex life by doing it now...He said all he can think about would be my water breaking or something during and then he wouldn't ever be able to do it again...

Congrats on the good news!  I hope the rest of your pregnancy flys by!

Congrats on your good news!  Glad your placenta previa has been resolved.

Can't believe you are having sex with a 7 pound baby inside you.  You are a hero!!
