Hiya guys, not been on much but my twins have had reflux from day one and have to have thickened feeds and you all know about their anus problems. They are doing really well.

We have infacol over here which has semethicone in and it doesnt seem to work until you give up on it then they really don't burp at all.
If you are bottle feeding I use Dr Browns bottles and they are fantastic. I'm not sure what winding techniques you have been taught (if any) I got taught lots of stuff cos mine were in the hospital. I find that laying them on their backs and waiting until they relax and gently pinching their tummies near the groin helps.
Also warmer than usual baths, while wrapping in a sheet so they don't get cold helps if you leave them in longer than normal. That helps to relax them.

For reflux, keep them at a 30 degree angle up to half an hour after feeding and do not jigg them or bounce them alot as this really doesn't help. My boys sleep on a slant too.

One of the symptoms of relux is that they have milky bogies or they sound sniffly.

We have another product here called dentinox which has dimethicone in it and dill, so I don;t know if dill might help.

Colic calm helps with reflux issues too..

My daughter has a hard time pooping too..so I boil fennel seeds in water and use that water to make formula.. that helps a bit with gas and pooping issues.

It will all go away when its close to 3 months... but until then.. we got to find ways to help..!!

I am having the same problem with Jaxson.. We are having to use a rectal thermometer to get him to move his bowels at times.. We are formula feeding and switched from powder to liquid, then back to powder and my Dr. thought maybe that was the issue? We are giving it a couple days to see if he improves. Gripe water didnt seem to help for us. Maybe I will try and find that colic calm.. Although our problem is gas, but Jax seems to be in a ton of pain when he;s trying to poo?

Another thought is reflux.  My baby never did spit up, she just screamed and screamed for no apparent reason, and the doctor thought maybe it was reflux, even though there were no obvious symptoms.  As soon as we started her on Zantac the problem was solved, I guess it was reflux after all. Doc said perhaps it ws just backing up into her throat and burning causing her colic...  maybe that could be part of your little one's problem?  Just a thought...

colic calm? where can i find that? my little guy is going through terrible gas as well and he's awfully constipated to the point where he is forming his bowels and he had an anal fissure (sp?) where his rectum was bleeding. he was screaming and squirming and i was right there crying with him.

i think its all b/c he is on a soy formula due to excessive vomitting and not gaining any weight and he is still a little jaundice :(

My little guy is having the same problem. I can't stand to see him in pain. I use Mylicon and it helps a bit. I will look for Colic Calm and see if that helps.
