Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction?

So, I just had my 12 week appointment and while I was there, I told my Dr. that I've been experiencing alot of pain in my hips, groin, and buttocks that gets worse with walking, sitting, and driving. She said that it is normal and is from the hormone that relaxes your pelvic area and gets you ready for delivery. She said that it will likely get worse and to take tylenol and use ice for pain and not to worry. My question is..is it pubic symphysis dysfunction or something that we are all experiencing? She didn't say and didn't seem too concerned, but none of my relatives or friends have had this type of pain..especially this early.

Hi again.  With all of my pregnancies, I have had terrible hip joint pain from about 10 weeks on - for the same reason.  I sleep with pillows between my legs to keep my legs apart while on my side and that helps a bit, but when on my back or driving it is quite painful.  I think it is normal - well, it is for me anyway.  Sadly, my hips stayed sore and remain sore particularly when driving or sitting for long periods.  My doctor said I basically now have hip displacia as a result and I just have to live with it.  I also broke my coccyx/tail bone (10 years ago) and that doesn't help!!  **SIGH**  hope yours improves after your little one arrives!!
