Almost 6 weeks twins, low heart rate

Hi everyone. After 3 miscarriages, I went to the doctor last week and found out I was pregnant. An ultrasound showed one sac, but no heartbeat yet measuring only about 4.5 weeks. I returned today to see if a heartbeat had developed (which we had never seen on the other miscarriages) and imagine my surprise when there were 2 heartbeats! However, the ultrasound tech said that the rates were a little slow. Not sure of exact number but she did say both were over 100. They measured at 5w5d and 5w6d. I am very worried about the lower rate though. Any advice?? Thanks!

Yea that is totally true! Anytime I am feeling something weird or out of what I think is normal I immediately jump on these forums and drive myself crazy seeing what other people have gone through. Probably not healthy!

I love these forums but to me it ***** to be on these forums to sometimes. You read about all these unhealthy mommas and these sick babies and then the M.C and you read the symtoms and sometimes you start questionsing your own body, I ve done it to ladies im not pointing fingers. The 1 sympton that comes up and it may be 1 out of 20 but you auotmaticly think the worse when you have that  1 ..  i  guess sites like this are a blessing and a curse in their own way you know?

Hey guys. I just wanted to give an update. I went for ultrasound this morning because I had been cramping and had back pain all week-end. But everything looked good. According to tech heartrates were normal and measured about 9 weeks. So I feel much better because I was just a wreck before I went, convinced I was miscarrying. I am driving my husband crazy, but I just dont know how to calm down! I know all this stress cant be good for the babies!

No I had no idea. I actually had an US a few days after I found out I was pregnant because of my history they just wanted to make sure the pregnany was in my uterus. When I went for that first one (4-5 weeks) she actually only saw one sac. When they went back is when they saw 2 with a heartbeat. She said the first time she had seen another small little sac but she thought at the time it was a little bleed.

Thank you for the well wishes guys. I did have the ultrasound and saw both babies heartbeats. The tech said that everything looked normal, but when I asked how far along they were measuring she just said "6  weeks and some change." I know they cant say exactly or whatever and this might just be me freaking out and analyzing everything but if they measured at 5w5d and 5w6d when I had US 8 days ago, shouldnt they at least be measuring at 7 weeks? Might be nothing but of course keep questioning it in my head. Still havent heard from dr.

my boobs were severely sore some days and not so sore other days....its so hard not to judge our pregnancies on our symptoms but they fluctuate too much to depend on them....try to stay calm....i know much easier to say then do

as long as you dont have any spotting/bleeding/cramping i would say everything is fine....and who knows you could have woke up this morning and they are sore again

Hey Everyone, so I am freaking out. I went to get in the shower tonight and my breasts had gone from excrutiating this morning to hardly sore tonight. I am so worried. Supposed to be around 7 weeks. Has this happened to anyone? Going to see if I can go in for ultrasound tomorrow.

Hey Momma, I work on the OB floor at the hospital and we have been able to scan fellow nurses and see the sex as soon as 13 weeks, but usually the OB offices do it 18-22 weeks.

Thank you so much. That does help. Just spoke to OB who said she was fine with that heartbeat since they just started beating. She said they will do a repeat ultrasound next week. Trying to stay positive!!

hope this helps..i found it online....

Normal heart rate at 6 weeks is around 90-110 beats per minute (bpm) and at 9 weeks is 140-170 bpm. At 5-8 weeks a bradycardia (less than 90 bpm) is associated with a high risk of miscarriage.

http://www.ob-ultrasound.net/  ---- thats the source

so as you can see the hearts start off beating slow and then increase.....

so everything looks good :)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. At this point I am an emotional mess. I am waiting for the doctor to call me, but the tech said that they would probably schedule another one in 7-10 days. We will see...

I had my u/s today @6 weeks and 4 days, and I THINK my dr. said the heartbeat was about 112, and she said everything looked great... Is that not good enough? How high is it supposed to be at this point?
