Shayne - I think the key is to keep on taking it with a full stomach. That's the only way I can take my prenatal and I really don't think it depends so much on the brand as the time of day.
Has anyone found an OTC prenatal that doesnt make them nauseous I'm taking the one a day brand prenatal and one is the DHA gell capsule and one is a pink pill with the iron, folic acid and all that stuff in it, but if i dont take it with a fullll meal then i just vomit them back up, anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestions of a brand that OTC that won't make me so nauseous?
I'm taking OTC prenatals and that's it. Same ones I took with my son. I take them before I go to sleep b/c otherwise they will give me a stomach ache... if you are having problems w/ the fish oil, you should stop while you're ahead... my husband had been taking something w/ fish oil in it and it made his stomach hurt a lot and then one day... TMI... he thought he was going to toot, and, well, let's just say it took a lot of clean-up time... gross!!! It's not for everyone... With any supplement... if it is harming you, it can't be good... some people are ok w/ stuff, others, not so much, so it's an individual thing each time... just take care of yourself!! :)
I'm taking Vitafol OB prescribed by my RE.
I'm taking the meijer brand prenatal vitamins as well as Especta (its a DHA supplement). I take mine in the morning. I don't have any problems taking them either.
I'm actually take the Trader Joe's brand prenatal. My midwife said it was fine. Before that I was just taking Target brand. It has all of the right amounts of all of the important stuff. I'm also taking a non-mercury fish oil with DHA. I haven't had any stomach issues with my vitamins. I'm like you...I take them after dinner and they work their magic while I'm asleep.
Hope that helps.
