I think my Dr is gonna do the sweep to me on Tuesday I'm pretty nervous about it just because I'm an ftm and I don't know just the thought makes me nervous. If it does happen I hope it works I'm due Jan 30 and she said she's Not letting me go into February regardless so fingers crossed

You can always ask to be induced as long as you are over 40 weeks. Weather ur doc will do it or not depends on the doc and/or hospital. My doc will induce me at 40+5 weeks because that's when she is scheduled to work at the hospital all day. She said if I choose to get induced earlier I can but only if hospital has space. I'm going to wait for her and pray baby cones before then!

I had my sweep today at 41 weeks, induction booked in for next week when I will be 42 weeks. Was told they are not allowed to do it any earlier if there is no problems. Was told to walk, the longer the better. Sex and afterwards put a pillow under pelvis to keep tilted upwards for about half an hour after. Raspberry leaf tea.

Iv had 3 sweeps (1every week) they are painful- but I was willing to do it to try and move thibgs along. Dr basically does a "cervix check" and scrapes/ sweeps the cervix with her fingers pretty vigorously. This last time I started cramping and bleeding bad but still no baby. It doesn't work for everyone. Iv been 3cm for all 3 weeks/sweeps with no change.

With my first I went 7 days over, had no signs of labour. Just happened. This one so far I'm 6 days over, have sweep booked tomorrow and will be asking about being induced as this pregnancy isn't easy and I can hardly move and walk. Will let you know what she says, but it's always better to speak to your own midwife as different countries are different.
