Using a midwife

I just wanted to see if anyone else in the community is choosing to use a midwife instead of an OB? I chose a midwife as I am planning a home birth.

At the practice I go to, doctors and midwives work together and from what I understand, it works well. I have friends who had both experiences and they liked it either way.

I'm not sure about a midwife, I was thinking about it, but not really sure. I just figure if I have a supportive dr I don't really see why I need one

Here on new zealand we all have midwives.  It's the best.  They are a supportive and answer any crazy questions you may have :)
