Hi girls just wondering if 4 ounces per feeding is too much for a 2 month old baby? Ever since I stopped breastfeedingBreast-feeding tips Breastfeeding Breastfeeding - resources due to love volume it seems like my son had gotten so chubby and seems to be eating constantly. Ahhh! He was only 5 pounds 12 ounces and I'm not sure where he's at now but he's got the chubby cheeks and chubby thighs. It's so cute but I'm wondering if I'm feeding him too much. He's always needing more if I give him only 3 ounces. Help!
It is different for every baby. Babies wont eat more than they need, they stop when they are full, so no, he isn't eating too much! There is nothing wrong with a chubby baby, its just if they stay too chubby past the toddler years that is cause for concern.
Since about 6 weeks my son has been emptying both breasts at each feeding and based on what I can get out when I pump he is getting between 6 and 8oz. He is a big baby though (9lbs 5oz at birth) he's already in 3-6 months clothes. At his last check-up he was 13lbs and that was 3 weeks ago.
I think your baby i sfine, according to my pediatrician, babies need to eat 2 and a half ounces per pound of body weight more or less according to ech baby. Like th rest of the girls state eveyr baby is different.
My James is about 12 pounds and he still every 2-3 hours each time is 3-4 ounces
Absolutely - I love my little chunky monkey (my name for him) He is 2 months and drinks 4 1/2 ounces at each feeding every 3 hours - except in the middle of the night bc he will go about 5 hours before waking up for a feeding. So I think you are doing fine and so are all the rest of the little ones. My ped is completely fine with my baby's weight and feeding. He is 8 weeks and weighs 12lbs 13 oz (was 8lbs 7oz at birth).
That's great! My son has a well check in 2 weeks so we'll see how much he weighs then. :) I wish my son would sleep longer through night. I think he has his days and nights mixed up because he sleeps through the day great but then at night wants to eat every 3 hours! Ugh!
My son has been drinking 4 ounces since about a month old, and he's almost two months and is STILL drinking 4 ounces, my doctor said it's completely normal, hes just a healthy eater, and to feed him as much as he wants and whenever hes hungry, at this point hes just growing and needs to eat all he wants to!
At Jack's 2 month checkup (at 9 weeks old) his pediatrician said he should be eating an ounce per pound...he is 12 lbs 14 oz so she said 6 to 6 1/2 ounces per feeding isn't unusual and is normal. Jack at this point (he'll be 10 weeks on Monday) eats anywhere from 2 ounces to 6 ounces, depending on time of day. Middle of night, 2 ounces...right before bed, 6 ounces. It just depends!
