Is this okay (dilation)?

by DaisyinSLC, Jul 03, 2009 08:24PM
I just had a doctor visit today and I'm 2 centimeters dilated. I'm 38 weeks and I'm due on July 18th. Is this okay? If everything keeps moving, how long until the baby comes?

Btw, do yous like the name Sara Nicole Ellis?

I started dilating at 31 wks. I have had 3 kids and pg with my 4th. This is the stage when our bodies start moving along and getting ready for delivery. It's hard to say when you will have the baby. I"m due the 20th and I'm 3 centimeters and 50% effaced. My cervix hasn't changed in 2 wks. I could go beyond his due date only time will tell it's up to my baby and body. What does your dr say and is this your first? I like the name it's cute!

I think is o.k, babies have a mind of their own. Lot of people dilate and stay like that for a while. I have been 100% effaced with 1 cm dilated for 3 and a half weeks, nothing else is changing much and my due date is July 12.

Woo hoo, you go girl. Awesome all you will have to do is dilate during your labor! That is great! Congrats I hope you move right along with dilation and have a nice and quick delivery! That is great. This is baby number # 1 for you right? You are one of the very few first time moms who just sails right along! Keep me posted!

AP- Yes this is my first bay, but truly I don't think he/he wants to come out, so I can of getting a little bit feed up. Today I am 39 weeks and getting some mild contractions so will see what happens.

Congrats! He will meet u. I was the same with my first 2 centimeters and 100% effaced I delivered him 5 days after my due date! These babies have a mind of their own as well as our bodies they do what they want to! It can be very long and tiresome waiting for their little arrivals! Keep your chin up you will meet him soon!

Hugs,
