Birthing class tomorrow!

DH and I have my birthing class tomorrow! I'm excited! It's going to be 8 hours long though, from 9-5! Seems awfully long, but only 10 weeks to go, and I'm sooo anxious!!

Ewww!  DH and I went to our class tonight.  It was VERY informative - kind of information overload though bc so much was packed into 4 hours.  Actually after the class I feel scared that I'm not gonna be so good at the whole L&D stuff...

Wow I wish my hospital was like yours! The 8 hour class was much too long, everyone drifted off, but I'm glad it's over with now!

Dh is so excited about the classes, and that is another reason we are taking them sooner, rather than later.  I am hoping they are as informative as yours was, but I have 5 weeks of them so there should be alot of info.  I am suprised that he was the only one there.  I hope he realized it makes him look good!

My DG is the same - he is going, but reluctantly.  He hasn't acutally said anything about NOT wanting to go, but, for example, our class is today and he was like - "So what time is that class we have to go to tonight?" in a very blah voice, and when I told him he was like "And what are they going to talk about?"  But - I'm thankful he's going and not really giving me any grief.
Oh, and my hospital does a one day 4 hour class, so I guess everywhere is different.

The classes offered at my hospital are like two two hour classes, I feel cheated, I want  a whole training course like yours.
I am dragging my husband to go with me.  I told him that if he's not going to the classes and read all the stuff that I'm going to make him read and watch all the movies that I'm going to make him watch then I'm inviting my mom and his mom into the delivery room.  So he screamed "No way! i'm going to be the only one there!"  so now he's going to all the classes and reading everything. :D
I'm sure that he'll be bored to death, but I want him to be very involved in this, and he is very sweet and supportive, just doesn't care about going to a cheesy class.

It was sooo much more informative than I thought it would be! DH was BORED out of his mind of course, but he was the only guy there! It surprised me a lot, there were three couples there, and two had their sisters with them, DH was the only father that is staying involved in their babies lives out of the three couples, I was so surprised! But DH asked the funniest questions, he has this thing where he HATES outtie belly buttons, and he was like is there anything we can treat the umbilical cord with that will ensure that his belly button is an innie? Haha, he's such a handful, not to mention it lasted 8 hours so it got boring after a while, and all the other pregnant women were NOT paying any attention, and they didn't seem to care at all, so the instructor focused on DH and I for the most part. The plus side is we won a gift certificate, and a diaper bag full of stuff playing games, we won bingo and a drawing.

BUT I'm MUCH less scared of labor now, I must say, I would recommend people taking them classes, as much as I didn't want to!

Congrats. It's alot of fun and a way for you both to share the experienc together. It can be really funny some of the things the men say or the faces they make. My dh was hysterical! Let me know what happens!

I don't think we offer any other classes besides this one, so I'm stuck with it haha!

Have fun!  We start ours on Wed.  We decided to take the 2 1/2 hour class for five weeks.  I remember trying to sit through the long college classes and that didn't work out so well, so we decided against the long birthing one too LOL!  Our long birthing one was 13 hours long though!  Let me know what it's like!
