Blankets vs. SwaddleMe Sacs from Toys R Us

Need some feedback......When Anika was born, I swaddled her in receiving blankets and then put a small blanket on top of her (she was born in Dec).  I was always worried about the receiving blankets going near her face as she used to wiggle out all the time.  I see that Toys R Us (Babies R Us) has SwaddleMe sacs that apparently swaddle the baby tightly and then you don't have to use a blanket at all (especially if you buy the fleece).  Not really keen on the ones that have arm holes as I would prefer the baby to be swaddled completely.  Has anyone used the SwaddleMe sacs or something similar? How did you like them?

Thanks for your help.

PS   When our daughter outgrew swaddling, we switched to a wearable blanket and used those until she was about 1 1/2.  Those we also got here in  Germany and in the US from Babies R Us.  I would also recommend that as opposed to a normal blanket.

We swaddled our daughter - she was wrapped up like a burrito! :)  LOL!  I didnt buy a swaddle blanket though for her, I just took a 1m by 1m piece of fabric and swaddled her and followed other calming techniques in the DVD that my mom got us "the happiest baby ont he block" and we were amazed.  It worked wonders when she was a newborn and fussy - for the reasons that ladybugbob stated above - newborns are used to being confined in the womb and used to a lot of noises.

This time we are pregnant with twins and I just purchased the Swaddle Me blankets from Babies R Us because I figure that is easier with two...but I have not tried them out yet.  If they arent any good, I will go to the fabric store and just 2m of fabric and swaddle the girls with that ;)

I have bought a few swaddle blankets for Evan. I tried just using receiving blankets for Noah but they always unraveled.
Babies are used to being all bundled up in the womb so I feel like the ones w/out arm holes would be the best. Also, when babies are still very new their nervous systems are not yet developed so they tend to "twitch" in their sleep which wakes them up. If they are swaddled tightly this motion is less likely to wake them (make sense) You can always pull their arms out if they seem uncomfortable but I doubt they will.

I'm a first timer, but a few of  my friends swear by the swaddler blankets (they all used different brands).  They said it made it easier to keep their babes swaddled and they could tell a BIG difference in the quality and length of sleep their babies got.  They used the ones that restricted the arms as well.  According to my childbirth class - the arms moving around are what freak babies out the most bc they are used to having them comfined in the womb.  I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to use them or not though - just thought I'd put my two cents in :-)

I've seen those and they look like straight jackets to me so I would probably go with the ones that have the arm holes on them but I don't know my baby isn't born yet so I don't know what I'd like ot not.
I have a bunch of receiving blankets, I'd think that if the baby gets uncomfortable he'll be able to wiggle it off but the swaddle me sacks just seem like the baby would get too frustrated in it.
