I have had so many complications with this pg and the one thing that has been unaffected is my appetite but over the last week it is diminishing. I was in l and d the other night and I was told I was having contractions but not labor. I honestly think I have began laboring. I just don't feel good and my stomach really hurts and I'm crampy and having alot of contractions and back pain. I also agree with the other girls I'm always dehydrated but I'm drinking alot of water and that causes us to feel gross. I would call your dr you may need some Iv fluids! Make sure you are not dehydrated! I hope you feel better soon!
Hugs,
AP
Thanks for all the advice !!! I will try to drink more water - I know I probably am not getting enough!!
I have also had some heartburn and indigestion in the 2nd trimester. I just went on line and searched for ways to avoid this. Basically avoid spicy and acidic foods and do not lie down after eating. Also, try elevating your head more when you laie down. I don't know if any of those helped me, but after a week or so it went away. Just one of those things about pregnancy!
I went from my first four months being totally horrible and getting sick all the time, to being hungry and eating all the time. A couple weeks ago I started with the nausea again and my appetite has decreased (which is better than me eating like a horse) but I too was wondering how everyone has been feeling.
It'll come and go---I know how hard it can be, hang in there!! I've got the same thing. Appetite is whacked, nothing sounds good. Just believe that there will be some days where you will feel great. Now's a good time to start branching out and trying foods you don't normally. I think it'll clear up by the third trimester and you'll find your groove.
For me, it has helped some to stay busy and remember that the appetite actually dies down some the second trimester for a lot of women, but we're so used to scarfing down everything ravenously that when nature turns it down a notch, we're not sure if we're hungry or not.
My other bit of advice (and the quickest fix), is that we often confuse the sensation of thirst for hunger because we are never taught to recognize it. And I don't mean feeling parched ;-) It's estimated that up to 70% of our "hunger" sensations are actually thirst signs that we fail to recognize.
I tend to not get enough water anyway, so I'm training myself to drink 8 oz or more of water every time I feel hungry, before I eat anything---especially when it's that "i'm starving but nothing sounds good." That's when it's most likely our bodies wanting hydration.
So no, you are not alone at all!! I'm right there with you, girl. Hang in there ;-)
