Growth - measuring techniques and growth pattern?

Somehow it does not appear as though Medina has grown much the last few months. I know babies grown very fast in the first 12 months but since then it has slowed down alot. I can't really measure her. Does anyone measure their little one and if so, what is a goo technique to measure them AND keep them still?

Also how are the kids growing? I'm getting a little worried as Medina has always been at least 95% percentile and she doesn't appear to be growing in height. She is eating well, and I thought she was going through a growt spurt last week as she was eating so much and snaking as well but apparently not :-(

Would like to know how everyone else's littles ones are shaping up. Is it just me or have you guys noticed that too?

Take care :-)

James is about 29 pounds and he meaures 34 inches (around 86 cm) he eats well soem days but others he totally refuses to eat.
He knows how to self feed but refuses to do so, and hands me the spoon to feed him.

today meal was:
Breakfast - 1 medium size waffle (no syrup)
                   12 cup yogurth

Lunch and dinner the same- around 1 cup of rice and  black beans, 1/4 cup of carrots.
                                          1/2 cup of vanilla custard

one afternoon snack- crackers and peanut butter with 1/2 cup yogurth.

Well here in Germany, they want all of the little ones over 75 cm to be stood up and measured. Well with a toddler that's difficult, so I did measure her lying down and she has grown, I did see that actually only today with her Hello Kitty sweatpants lol.

With weight, I guess Medina is around 25-28 lbs, haven't weighed her in a few months so it's just an estimate. It's hard not worrying!!

Take care :-)

Sounds like more then enough to me.

My dr still lies Lochy down to get height measurements. She has a board at 0 that rests at his head and she just pulls his legs straight.

Lochlyn usually eats:

Breakfast: one all natural apple cinnamon package of porridge, one adult sized yogurt cup, and sometimes half a banana.

Lunch: Leftovers- usually a portion similar to mine or sandwich (not put together as a sandwich cause he just pulls them apart LoL) - one slice of deli meat, or handful of cut up chicken/turkery, 4 pieces of cheese, 2 tomato slices, and some lettuce and some form of fruit

Dinner: Pasta or casserole he eats almost the same amount as me!! or half a chicken breast, 1/4 cup of potatoes with cheese on top or he won't eat them lol, 1/4 cup of corn/pea/broccoli

Snacks are usually a handful of fishy crackers and fruit, a yogurt, a fruit cup, or some form of fruit on it's own. He is really into peeled apples at the moment.

He hasn't had his appointment yet (he's an end of the month baby) but I weighed him the other day and he was 25 lbs. Don't know how tall though.

Medina eats alot too. Here is what she ate today:

Coco pops for breakfast (1 portion) and 100 g vanilla puddings, snack: a corn thin; lunch very well-sized portion of tri-coloured pasta twists with tomato sauce, carrots, onions, and mushrooms followed by a probiotic yoghurt drink; snack half a banana, 2/3 tub of apple-banana fruit puree; dinner with arabic rice (with vermicelli noodles), cauliflower and peas, with half a chicken schnitzel. Then another snack of vanilla yoghurt.

What do you think? Is that alot? I don't expect her weight to really increase as she is always on the go and eats well most of the time. But she was really tall at birth (56 cm) and has always been and her father is really tall (I'm average), so I'm a little suprised. I want to measure her height but she doesn't stand still and won't let me. Anyone have any tips on measuring height?

BTW, would be interesting to know how tall and heavy are your little ones now at ca. 18 months?

All the best :-D

Lochlyn has gained 3 lbs in the last 10 months. He went from the 90-95 % to the 30-35% at his 15 month appointment.

He eats like crazy!! I give him the most calories possible in a day. Almost every dinner is casserole (pasta, meat, veggies, cheese and bread crumbs on top) He always has a snack on hand and if he gets juice it is all fruit smoothie which has lots of calories as well. He just won't grow anymore then that. His father was tiny so I think he just reached his peak. His pediatrician keeps hounding me for him not gaining weight but the cardiologist he saw wasn't concerned at all, she said he has most likely reached his genetic capacity, Which is most likely where Medina is. They can't keep growing like they did forever or they would be 3 and 100 lbs! LoL. I wouldn't worry too much. =D
