LO's at their 4 months check up

Hello girls, it seems that everyone is doing well, haven't heard much from anyone and I thought it will be nice to see how is everyone doing while we are getting closer to our LO's 4 month check up.

James's appoitment is going to be on Nov 10th, so I will post then his measurements but so far he is doing great.

He is working on his exersaucer every day, still a little wabbly but doing better.

Not able to sit without assistance yet, still have to hold him at times bc otherwise he falls to the sides.

Now he is a chatter box, likes to coo, and say bahhh, bahh, and smile a lot.

His nights are better as well his naps, sometimes he sleeps a whole 1-2 hours during the day, sometimes only 30-40 minutes but we are working on it.

Hope I can hear from everyone's else.
LOL

Tasia---formula does fill up babies more.  To help Iliana sleep longer at night, I add 1.5 tsp of rice into her bottle of formula  You can try supplement 2 bottles a day (one in the morning and one at bedtime) and see if that helps.

JT had his 4 month check up on the 5th. He weighed in at 16ibs 14oz he is 26.25 inches long. He got his shots cried a little then slept a lot. His sleeping hasn't been to well and I think it isn't because he isn't getting enough to eat. We tried giving him rice cereal he just spit it out so I guess we are going to wait a little longer. I am glad he is growing well and is a very happy baby I just want to get our sleeping pattern back. Does any of you ladies know of a way I can get him to eat rice cereal since Breast milk seems to not be enough. Will formula fill him up more?

Hi. We just took Hunter to his 4 month appointment yesterday. He weighted in at 19 pounds 5 ounces and 26 inches long, his head measured at 44cm. He got his shots in one leg and yes it broke my heart as well, he looked up at me and his eyes got really big and he lost it, started crying, but he only cried but a little bit after I picked him up and hugged him he seemed to calm down, Although he was really cranky during the rest of the evening it was horrible, and he slept pretty much all night I had to wake him to eat. They suggested I don't give him Cereal until 6 months, I really was hoping to start him on cereal (Rice) this month. He said he is a big boy now if he doesn't seem satisfied then most certainly give him cereal. I nurse him so I guess MOMMY Is doing pretty well, he is gaining weight like he should..!!! YAH!!!!!!!  He normally goes down to bed at 9:00-9:30pm and normally wakes up around 4:30 to eat and then back to sleep until about 9am. Then takes about 1 nap during the day. My little guy is rolling over as well, funny he loves watching cartoons, he is really chewing on his fist and making all kinds of noise I love it..!!!! I just can't get over how fast they grow.

Hi girls, I just got back from James's appoitm he got his shots and only cried for a bit, what a hapy littl boy he is, now he is asleep bet he is tired from the whole day.

HIs weight is 15 pounds 14ounces, and 26 inches 1/4long, his head is pretty small too. So it seems he is pretty much like everyones' else. The doc says we should start rice cereal and then food couple weeks later, like sweet potaotes, etc. So we are going to start next week (my preference).
She also suggested I put James to bed instead of 6 pm to 10:30 at night, but I don't think I am going to do that bc he is actually doing well, sleeps from 6:30-700pm to 1 where he wakes up and feeds until 5 am, maybe what I am going to do is move his 1 am feeding to 11pm and that way I can get a little more sleep.

How is everyone's else doing?

Hi Everyone! :)

Kaylee is doing great! At her 4 month check up, she got her needles, one in both leg and it near broke my heart.  Her little eyes got right wide and her lip stuck out and then all of a sudden she was screaming.  She was pretty cranky two days afterward, but she's doing great now.  She was 16 pounds and 5 ounces and she's 26 inches long.   She's still not sleeping through the night, but we pretty much have a schedule down pat, and that I can work with.  She usually goes to sleep around 11:00pm sleeps till 3, and then goes back to sleep till 6 when her daddy gets up to go to work, so that's not bad at all.  She usually goes back down for a nap at 10:00 am and sleeps for about an hour, and then she's up and about for the rest of the day.  She loves sitting up and playing with her toys, She can sit without assistance but she has to be placed in the sitting position first.    But when she's sitting in her seat or swing, she tries very hard to sit up on her own.  She loves TV, especially Henry and his bucket of Dinosaurs, it's so cute sitting there watching her watch it from her seat.  She screams and Kicks and laughs and giggles, it's awesome!  She's been eating some solids, She can't eat the Oat or rice cereal because of the milk based products in it, and i cannot find stuff without milk products in it, so she's been eating sweet potato, butternut squash, and Peas.  She absolutely loves the sweet potato. And sometimes for a snack she will have the Beginner Apple sauce.

I'm glad everyone is doing great.  I have a hard time getting on here sometimes, because when Kaylee gets to sleep i'm in overdrive trying to get the house clean.   I will try and check in more often

Cheers everyone

*Hugs*

Crystal

Is nice to hear from you girls, and is great to see our little love bugs are doing well. We are not doing cereal yet, will see what the doc says on his 4 months appoitm.
I love the fact you were able to find a jumperoo for suc a great price, I have been trying toget some but they are so expensive, the same thing with the bumbo, don't feel like spending so much money in something he is only going to be using for about a little while, I wish I could find a better price so I can buy it.

About the thicker version for cereal I don't know, maybe you should try and see what he does.

Ladybugbob- I am so happy Cash is sleeping better, I think 40 minutes is better than 15 or 20 like they used to do.  At least he sleeps well throughout the night. James still wakes up at 4 am to feed.

I am so happy we have each others to chat at times.

Hi everyone! Yes, it's too quiet around here.

Jack turned 4 months on Oct. 29. He had his 4-mo shots last week and ran a temp over 101 for a couple days after he got them. Daycare called the day after he got his shots and had me pick Jack up because no babies with temps over 101 are allowed. Anyhow, I called the nurse and she had us bring Jack in to see the pediatrician just because of flu scares and things. He had a flu test and was fine, so we'll chalk his temp up to the shots, I guess. His temp was 97.3 today.

At his 4 mo appointment, Jack was 15 lb 8 oz (70% percentile), 26 1/2 inches (80% percentile), and his head is only 41 cm (25th percentile). I don't think his head looks small!  Hmm.

Jack is rolling from his back to his belly a lot now. In fact, we can't even put him in his crib at night because he turns on his stomach EVERY TIME we put him down and he grunts and squeals until someone comes in and rolls him back over! So, he's back in his bassinet, which he seems just fine with. He loves that thing, he's just getting too big for it! I need to figure out a solution so he can go back in his crib!

Now thanks to daylight savings, Jack is going down about 7:30 p.m. and sleeping through the entire night..we have to wake him when we get up for work! Over the weekend, Jack went to bed about 8 p.m. or so and woke up at 9 a.m. We got some good sleep. Unfortunately, he's had quite a stuffy nose, so his way of breathing through his mouth includes a lot of cooing and squealing. ha ha. I had to get up at 4 a.m. on Monday because he was up trying to breathe. I took him to his nursery and put saline drops in his nose...then tickled his nose and made him sneeze. A bunch of gunk landed on my shoulder and he was much happier, ha ha. Oh the things we do for our bubs!

Jack's sleeping with a humidifier. He's breathing better but coughing and sneezing more. Maybe the gunk is loosened and he's getting it out.
Jack is bouncing himself in his Oeuf bouncer and really kicking and knocking at things on his playmat. We got him a bumbo and a bumbo tray, and he is reaching for toys we put on the tray. Yesterday, we found the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumparoo ($80 value) in the Target sale section for $20!! I didn't know if Jack was big enough, but I couldn't resist. What a deal! I put it together last night and googled the age minimum for that jumper. The manufacturer said 5 months and up but I found dozens of reviews and parents with babies as young as 3 1/2 months were putting their baby in it with no problem....so I tried it! Jack isn't big enough to jump, but he enjoyed looking and poking at all the blinking lights and toys. What a good buy!

Because he spits up a bit, we've been adding a TINY bit of Gerber rice cereal to his milk for weeks now. I'm wondering if I should try a thicker version to try on a spoon. I am confused about what age you can start doing that at. My book says 4-6 months, my doctor said wait until 6 months. Hmm.

Hey girl!  It has gotten pretty quiet on here lately - I miss the activity!
Cash won't get his 4 month shots until he is 5 months bc we were late getting the 2 month shots, and the dr. likes for there to be 2 months between the two sets.
However, he had a rash and I had to take him to the dr yesterday.  Says it is contact dermatitis and we may never know what he came into contact with that caused the rash.  It'n on his tummy sides and under arms.  They gave us some hydrocortisone to put on it, so I hope that helps.
At 4 months he is weighing in at 18lbs 2oz!  My little chunky monkey!
Cash can sit for very short spans unassisted but he has to lean on his hands to do it.  When he is leaned back against our knees while in our lap, in the bouncey seat, or in the swing he is pulling his head and shoulders up trying to get in a sitting position.
He is in the jumperoo now, but isn't crazy about putting his feet down to the floor.  He loves standing in my lap though.
He is sleeping great at night - usually about 10 hours! woo hoo!  He has also started trying to practice rolling over in his sleep.  Funny, but eventually his practice wakes him up and boy does he get mad about that!  Thankfully it only takes him about 15 minutes to settle back down though.
However, he will only sleep about 40 minutes for naps.  Makes it hard to get stuff done.
We have started on rice cereal with a spoon and he LOVES it!!!  It is so much fun feeding him!  I can't wait to move on to veggies and fruits, but that won't happen until 5 or 6 months, bc we are going to move through the grain cereals first (rice, oatmeal, and barley).  Just personal preference.
Cash is all talk these days too!  So funny!

Can't wait to hear frome veryone else!
