Teething questions

Ladies, I need answers. For those mommies who had LO teething, did they cry a lot at night?
James is driving me up the wall, he cries and cries a lot at night, just wants to be held all the time and if I touch his gums it seem to bether him alot but I don't feel any bumps or raised spots on his gums.
I am so tired, he is been getting up at night every 1-2 hours, and cries a lot. He spiked a 100.1 temperature for couple nights then we took him to his pediatrician and he does not have any ear infection that he could tell but prescibed him some antibiotics in case he was developing one, but that was about a week ago and he is still crying a lot at night, any ideas.

Jack still doesn't have any teeth! He is really into his finger foods but doesn't seem to be cutting any teeth yet. He chews on things and drools more than he used to but I haven't felt anything like a tooth around his gums! I am wondering when he'll fill out his little mouth! Ha. My friend's baby didn't get a tooth until he was 9 months so I am not too worried about it for now. I'm nervous he'll cry and be in pain (and keep us up at night) when he teethes...

I have just come to accept the fact that some babies are high maintenance when it comes to sleeping!! Or at least that's what I want to believe.........

Medina is co-sleeping with me still because my PPD peaked this month, and I tried controlled crying again, and it mades things worse for the both of us. She sleeps well next to me and I stroke her back or hair and sing her to sleep, so the nursing to sleep and rocking are out at least.

the patting worked for a bit long ago, but once he got that figure out he will not stop crying even with the patting so now we are in full rocking mode. So I pick him up calm him( because he is literally wailing) while walking a bit then we sit on the glider and rock away until he falls asleep again, sometimes it can take a good half an hour or 45 minutes because when he is asleep and I get up to put him on his crib he cries again and we have to start all over again.
Girl I am telling you sometimes I feel like a bomb ready to blow up, poor DH has to put up with my moods, but can't help it with lack of sleep I am way over my head.

Naps are good for Cash too!  I think I would honestly rather him sleep great at night than take great naps though!  Oh well - we'll just keep encouraging one another and make it through!  I can't deal with the crying either - it just feels wrong and makes me feel horrible, not to mention how upset HE gets and not knowing exactly how it is effecting him and what he is thinking.
When you go in to comfort James do you pick him up or just pat him?  We were just patting Cash but now that isn't working - I have to pick him up and rock.  Zzzzzzzzz....

same her friend, same here. I do believe he is teething too but alos I think he is learning to fight his sleep. We are so tired, like you is just rock and rock all day and night long, and he is doing everything he can to keep himself awake. I tried the controlled crying but he wails and wails and I cannot do this to him or myself, so I keep going to his room and comforting, hopefully with this consistency they might be able to get it.
Naps are great thought, I guess he is so tired from being up at night..

Hey girl - we are going through similar issues with Cash - no fever, but he wakes up every 1-2 hours as well.  I rock him back to sleep and when I move him to the crib he wakes up and cries as well.  We tried the Ferber method (again) and Cash just doesn't stop crying so that doesn't work.  I don't know what to do - I am SOOOOO tired - all I do is go to work and come home and rock! At least that's what it feels like LOL!  I don't know - I'm hoping consistancy is key and that if I keep rocking and putting him back in his crib he will get the point that that is how things are going to be. With Cash though he IS learning to fight sleep though.  When we start rocking if he starts to slip off to sleep he will pop his head up and play with my hair or try to roll over in my arms or push off with his feet or arms.  It's like as soon as he realizes he's going to sleep he thinks "Oh no - I don't wanna do that I better get up!"  I don't know what to do - just keep on keeping on I guess.

Guys you are all so awesome, I love you so much, it means a lot and helps me a lot reading and understanding that what James is going through is part of his teething, also I think he is too getting over a bad experience with croup so the poor child is so uncomfortable.
We are giving him some amoxicillin for the last 2 days and tylenoll and motrin around the clock. Tried the orajel but he hates it and makes him gag, now we are trying the teething tablets.
He is been waking up every 1-2 hours at night, and when he falls asleep on my arms and I try to move him to his crib he wakes up and wails. DH thinks is not just teething but he is having some behavior problems when he is trying to keep himself awake. I don't think so because I truly think he is not feeling a 100 percent,  but we are both going nuts.

Kaylee was Miserable with her first two teeth coming in as well.  She lost all appetite, constnatly crying and only wanted mommy or daddy to snuggle.  She had a fever ranging from 100.8 to a 100.2 and I felt bad pumping the Tylenol into her but it was her only relief.  Oragel makes her throw up so I couldn't give her that.  She was sleeping awful, she'd wake up every 30 mintues or so just screaming at the top of her lungs.  Tears everywhere and it was just breaking my heart. It lasted about a week or so, then she seems to be back to her regular happy self.  I hope James gets through it okay, give him lots of snuggles and hugs and just know it ends eventually..

Cash cried alot at night when he was cutting his first two teeth!!  He also kept a lowgrade fever and red cheeks.  I had to give him Motrin several nights to give him some relief.  I also bought the nighttime formula of Orajel and it seemed to help better than the regular stuff.  I hope this passes for him soon!  Cash doesn't seem to be having as much trouble with the top two - he is sleeping poorly, but thankfully no fever or crying spells.

My oldest he was very go with the flow when he was teething my 3rd tho she was a nightmare all she did was cry when she was teething.  I would occasionally give motrin or tylenol. I'm not a huge fan of keeping them medicated but there are just times where they need alittle especially when they are teething. Jeremy lately has been alittle fussy. He has yet to cut any teeth tho. I'm not sure if James is crying just from the teething. Do you have a night light in his room? Jeremy doesn't mind the dark but some do...... I hope he feels better soon. I had bad ears as a child luckily knock on wood none of my kids do....
