Me too girl!!! Because since Cash was due 30 June I am in that community too and no one is ever there anymore. Cash wanted to be with you guys thats why he waited until July 1st to be born!
I looked into the nap nanny as well. I start Colter in the pack N play next to me which is elevated for his reflux, but then when he wakes up for the first feeding it is in bed with me. I am glad I am not the only one having so many problems. Even during the day when he falls asleep, as soon as I put him in his crib or anywhere he wakes up. They do say that for the first 8 weeks this is normal. My mom and aunt are actually coming to visit from NY next week and I am going to give them the task of working on him falling asleep anyplace other than my arms LOL! He loves the car seat and would fall asleep in there, but the dr. said this is the worst place for him because of his reflux and the position of his legs in it make it worse!
By the way, I am so glad everyone is still on here to offer advice!!!
No my little one still sleeps in his cradle next to us in our room, during the day while he is napping I tried to put him on his crib but wakes up right away. He also cries a lot to sleep so I followed GRose advise and bought a swing, so now he is a swing baby and then to the cradle at night. Hopefully later on I will be able to make him slep on his own, will see.
I wish I would have known about the nap nanny, it looks awesome!
Cash was a carseat baby. Then I bough a nap nanny from nap nanny . com (remove the spaces) and it worked like a charm, it's a little more open but still keeps him elevated and has been getting him used to having more space and not being so cozy all around. I'm hoping this will make transition to the crib easier.
Evan is a swing baby, it's the only way either of us can get some sleep.
I started putting my baby in her crib 3 nights ago (she is 7 weeks). I decided to do this because when I used to put her next to me after feeding in the middle of the night she would sort of wiggle around and make grunting noises while she tried to settle back to sleep and it kept me awake! So now I keep her in the crib, feed her when she wakes up and then put her back. Its challenging getting her to sleep at night though, she will fall asleep nursing and then as soon as I take her off the boob and put her down she is wide awake again. I notice that if she is asleep while nursing and still has a good latch she is not fully asleep. If she falls off the boob herself then she is out and I can put her down easily. So I try to wait until she has let up on the latch until I put her down.
Im going to try and work towards putting her down while she is still awake to let her fall asleep but she's still pretty little so Im doing whatever I can to get her to sleep so that I can sleep! Best of luck.
Mine sleeps best anywhere BUT his crib, lol. The bassinet, couch, carseat, in bed with me (his favorite)... but lay him in the crib and he is up within minutes. I think it may be too firm (compared to the other surfaces).
I am thinking of buying one of those waterproof pads under the sheet to make it a little softer. I also bought a motion/light/musical crib toy today, so we shall see how that works!
I put my first in her crib at 8 weeks. I plan on doing the same with this one. Yes,it could be a challenge to get them to sleep but what I did was started putting my first down while awake. I had an ocean wonders musical toy playing plus I used a night light. There were days she would fall asleep easy and days where she would cry. I would have to practice tough love so she would learn how to soothe herself to sleep. I would let her cry but no more than 15 minutes. I would then calm her down, snuggle with her for a bit and put her back down. It may be tough for a bit but eventually, they get used to it as long as you maintain consistency. She too was a "carseat sleeper". Not sure if this helps. If you need to chat message me. I am more than willing to answer any questions.
