I agree, leave it all up to the people throwing it. Mine will be in June sometime in the beginning. I would give at least 3 weeks, so they can shop and plan around it! Yeah baby showers! I love them! They are like birthdays parties, everyone has fun and you get free stuff, lol.
ckenny- You should just let your friend plan it. I think it would be so much more fun for you. Baby showers should not be stressful...As long as you are registered you should get the things you want!
AP
well i think im having mine may 30th but like my best friend is suppose to plan it for me but at the same time i want to be included so that the things i want done will get done.
jess- usually you don't have to plan your own, I did help my sisters but it was basically all them, they actually got mad at me cause I was sticking my nose into the details all the time lol.
Not sure. Mine was a complets suprise. I would think about a month or so. It gives people a chance to plan and have time to get our and get the gift etc.....
mine is may 30th too!!! cant wait!!
Ok, so----do you plan your own shower? I didn't know how that worked, don't want to be all presumptuous and be like "Hey, I'm having a party for myself, come on, buy me stuff!!" lol
I just figured if I had one it would be because my sister and friends threw one for me (in which case I expect to have 2 or 3... egads)
My shower is May 15 - I am sending out invitations 6 weeks in advance - but I have family and friends that need the heads up - bc they live far away (4-6hours away)
I'm having mine at the end of May too - May 30th! :] My mom and sister won't even let me see the decorations! :[
im not having it until the end of may i think but i was just wanting to know for later on.
Anytime within that two weeks, usually you give an RSVP date, like 4 days before the actual party so you know how much food to buy. If you are having the shower catered you will obviously need a head count a little sooner but even then most venues only need a weeks notice on how many people they will be feeding. if you want to do 2 1/2 or 3 weeks that would be ok but I really wouldn't send them out any earlier than 3 weeks, people will forget.
Yeah probably like 2 weeks, when are you having your baby shower??
but then when would they RSVP.
I think 2 weeks is good, it gives people time to ask off of work if necessary and it isn't too much notice that they are going to forget about it.
