OB Appointments

Have any of you had your first OB appointments yet?  I go in next week, and will be 9 wks, 5 days.  Just wondering if the OB will try to hear the heartbeat with a doppler or anything like that?  I heard the heartbeat via transvaginal ultrasound, but that was 2 weeks ago.  I'd love that extra reassurance that thigns are going well, but not sure if that is part of the plan that first OB visit.

yay, thats so cool.....

BF and i used our doppler yesterday, 10wks 2days and we found our baby's heartbeat!! it was 160. It was so reassuring to hear it.

Yup.. saw it first.. my husband commented "wow.. technology"  the dr said "you have not seen it all"  and hit the play/volume or whatever button.. and then we heard it and saw the little graph start across the screen.. SO cool....

Heartbeat 123 bpm.... husbands first baby - my third.. I did not tell him that if things went well we could hear it...but we did.. we heard it!!!  He was SOOO happy... now waiting for next weeks u/s... 1st pregnancy I saw the hb at 5w5d - lost at 8w... hopefully all will go well!!! best of luck to you all.. let me know how all works out!!

I tried it but couldn't find it. I will keep trying. I know it depends obviosly not as good as the doppler at my dr's office. I will keep you girls posted.

I was so tired yesterday I didn't get to use it but hopefully today. I will let you know as soon as i do. Goodluck with ur ultasound. im sure everything will be great.

Let me know if it is a good one when you try it.. I am anxious to be at the point where I can hear it daily... Have not seen it yet.. go for my 2nd u/s tomorrow to HOPEFULLY see the heartbeat.. so nervous!

I also find out in a week and cannot wait. They saw me today, but I guess it was too soon. They only confirmed I was pregnant. I asked if I can get an u/s and they said yes! I'm hoping for the best!

I got my doppler on ebay for $72.00 a pretty good one i think. I plan to try mine today since i now know where to look from my appt on monday.

During my first pregnancy I bought a home doppler that I used often.. until I went into labor at 19 weeks and was hooked up to a monitor for 15 weeks... I found a few on amazon that I will probably get one of the cheaper ones for this pregnancy too!!

Try to insist on them using the doppler. I heard mine clearly yesterday.

I just went in yesterday. With my last pregnancy he looked for the heartbeat at 9wks and coudln't find it and send me for an ultasound and i had lost the pregnancy.

Now at my appt yesterday i was 9ks 3days it wasn't my dr who saw me and she didnt want to use the doppler but I insisted and she used it and found the heartbeat in a matter of seconds. IT was the most wonderful and comforting sound.  This was my second ob appt and i've had 2 ultrasounds.

Mine is on Dec 14th! Try explaining that you need a little reassurance and maybe your OB might oblige!

I havent had my appt yet (friday!) but Im wondering the same thing. I am getting an u/s then so I guess Ill hear it that way. I think 9wks is about when they started using the doppler when I had my other children.
