Heard the heartbeat...I am relieved!

This morning, I thought I would try to find the heart beat. I am 8w6d and just wanted some peace of mind that all is okay after I had some spotting 2 days ago. But I also knew it was early, but I wanted to try anyway. Well, after 2 min of searching, I heard the heart beat and I am relieved!! I feel as though I can finally take a breather and actually relax a bit. I couldn't believe I found it! I am 20 pounds overweight and still have some baby belly left from my last pregnancy, but was still able to find it! Just wanted to share and I hope you ladies are all doing well!! Morning sickness has been kicking my butt and I have already lost 8lbs. Blah. I am hoping it will ease up soon.

You're welcome! My uterus is tilted as well, so sometimes I can hear it, and sometimes I can't. As far as I know, it's fine to use.  With my other pregnancies I used it everyday (until they were big enough and I knew they were okay), just didn't leave it on my belly for too long though.

I have a sonotrax B Pocket Fetal monitor by contec 3MHz. I bought it off ebay back in january and loved it. I heard my baby's heartbeat at 9weeks with it...haven't tried it yet!

I was originally renting a Doppler from Stork Radio. I just looked at their site it's so much cheaper now than when I first got it! I rented it for 3 months and then just ended up buying it because I loved it. They took off whatever it cost to rent it for 3 months from the original price, so I bought it. To me it was worth it if I had any future pregnancies.

I have the Stork Radio Fetal Doppler with 3 MgHz Probe, if you go to their website, and click on fetal dopplers, it's the second one down. I actually woke up in the morning, didn't use the bathroom so my bladder was super full and I heard it very clearly, and very very low just above my pubic bone. Don't worry though about not hearing it yet GinaGi, it's completely normal and if you are not sure exactly where to look, it can be tricky. Also, sometimes your uterus could be tilted or baby is behind the placenta which can really block the sound.

What kind of doppler do you all have?  I was going to look for one too!  Any suggestions?

That's great news! I bought one of those doppler things last week even though it said it couldn't be used until late in the second trimester. Last night I heard the heartbeat for the first time. It is definitely a relief to have some reassurance that everything is okay. I hope everything continues to go well for you!!
