I am 8w3d and today I heard my baby's heartbeat with the doppler...i am soooooo excited and relieved!! It was only for a few seconds before i couldn't find it anymore so it is still early but at least i know little smudgie is alive and kicking!
You're welcome! My uterus is tilted as well, so sometimes I can hear it, and sometimes I can't. As far as I know, it's fine to use. With my other pregnancies I used it everyday (until they were big enough and I knew they were okay), just didn't leave it on my belly for too long though.
Thanks chantal ,
i do have a tilted uterus and my bladder was not full .. Is it safe to use ? Like if i try everyday . i don't want to scare my baby lol i know i am silly .
I have a sonotrax B Pocket Fetal monitor by contec 3MHz. I bought it off ebay back in january and loved it. I heard my baby's heartbeat at 9weeks with it...haven't tried it yet!
I was originally renting a Doppler from Stork Radio. I just looked at their site it's so much cheaper now than when I first got it! I rented it for 3 months and then just ended up buying it because I loved it. They took off whatever it cost to rent it for 3 months from the original price, so I bought it. To me it was worth it if I had any future pregnancies.
I have the Stork Radio Fetal Doppler with 3 MgHz Probe, if you go to their website, and click on fetal dopplers, it's the second one down. I actually woke up in the morning, didn't use the bathroom so my bladder was super full and I heard it very clearly, and very very low just above my pubic bone. Don't worry though about not hearing it yet GinaGi, it's completely normal and if you are not sure exactly where to look, it can be tricky. Also, sometimes your uterus could be tilted or baby is behind the placenta which can really block the sound.
now i am panicking becuaes i am 9 weeks and i could not find the heartbeat how did you do it and which machine do you have ,
What kind of doppler do you all have? I was going to look for one too! Any suggestions?
That's great news! I bought one of those doppler things last week even though it said it couldn't be used until late in the second trimester. Last night I heard the heartbeat for the first time. It is definitely a relief to have some reassurance that everything is okay. I hope everything continues to go well for you!!
