I am taking each day as it comes lol These 2 little chicks of mine are opposites... if one is happy the other is grumpy, if one is napping the other isnt, and if one sleeps good thru the night the other doesnt! so when i get a good day its pretty awesome! i changed the crib into the toddler bed cause my daughter didnt want to sleep in the other toddler bed so i am considering just getting another crib that changes to a toddler bed for Danielle, this basinette isnt gonna last too much longer and ill get enough use out of both cribs to make it worth it... the next stage would be a bunkbed and that wont be for 3 more years... i am thinking potty training is gonna start next week sometime and i really really hope it goes better this round.... 2 kids in diapers is a lot! and poor Danielle is having a rough time in that department and im having to change her A LOT! she has a birthmark on her bum and its now opening up into a big open sore and its aweful when she gets pee or poop in it and its getting bigger everyday :(  babies skin is delicate already and the birthmark made it worse so being in the wiping/peeing/pooping area the skin cant hold up and its gonna be a long sad battle till the skin gets tougher :( THANK GOD for kids polysporin! it has lidocaine in it and numbs the area... but if it gets wiped off from her diaper she screams bloody murder and its heartbreaking tryingt o clean the area and quickly get more cream on it feels like forever waiting for the numbing to kick back in.... and currently she has an eye infection, my other daughter had a fever on and off and vomited the other night and now she has a rash on her tummy and armpits?? i told Clint that social services should be coming by anyday now at this rate!
Well the little chick is calling me to go feed her so thats all i can type right now :)

hey heather how is your toddler doing? i know i was kinda talking to you about my 2 year old and im happy to say she is in a big girl bed, she is pacifier free, and she is peeing on the potty... and it all has went really easy?! i was so worried for nothing! same goes for adding another baby to the mix, i dont even think she remembers life as a single child and adores her lil sis....
and jnene24 omg its awesome not to worry about this chick being in pain.... i feel for moms who go thru far worse... its aweful when little ones are in pain

oh yes and the teething has started! i have to keep bibs on this lady all day!... she is one big drool bomb! the teeth are right there so anyday now im sure!

I think Lilah is teething now too. Her hands are constantly in her mouth!! My toddler has just finished teething and now another one begins!! ooooohhhh I hate teething!

yayyyy leslie! !!! so happy baby is doing good  =)my LO is A HANDFUL! omg she wants to be held 24-7 n I think shes starting to teethe bc she's miserable and chewing on everything (including her hands and making herself gag) and her gums are bumpy.  I can tell this first year is going to be ROUGH to say the least.. as long as I'm constantly playing with her shes so happy though! and she LOVES being outside!! (no matter how cold it is!)

i just thought id update that Danielles little bum is healed over! diaper changes are soooo much better and its crazy that i actually have to remind myself to change her bum lol some days i look at the clock and it will have been a while since i changed her.... not that thats good but what a change!

tired... need I say more :) Adalynn was doing really well with sleeping 5 hours 6 hours even 7 hours sometimes but now she thinks she needs to eat every hour... and thinks I need to hold her all the time. wow I really dont do anything else it feels like.

Ovol is a MIRACLE gas drop...not sure if it's just available in Canada though. It's almost instantaneous when you use it but can only be used 4 or 5 times within 24 hours!

Im.using the vent aire bottles by playtex....and I love them!! The price isnt too bad if u buy the box of 5 rather than singles.
As far as the ovol or other simethicone based gas products shouldnt be making burping difficult. Try giving it at times between feeding like an hour or two before or after.
Oh! And the hypoalergenic formula is nutramigen
My first ds was.severly colicy. I tried every formula there was on the market including soy and nutramigen. And believe it or not the one that worked for him was presidents choice concetrated in the light,pink box

My first was a VERY colicky baby. I was exclusively breastfeeding and it was frustrating and draining. At 4 months old I took dairy completely out of my diet and just a week later he changed completely. He was much happier...he wasn't crying all day or arching his back or even fussing at the breast. When I did switch him to formula I had to give him soy because any dairy or anything with milk proteins would give him gas and diarrhea. He has grown out of it now.

As for us and how we're doing. Everything is going as good as it can with a 2 1/2 month old and an almost 2 year old. Lilah is an AMAZING baby. She has gas too but not the way Brady was. Hers is just normal baby gas. Brady LOVES his baby sister and she likes to watch him. They are both doing so well. It's difficult with both at times but I'd never change it for anything. :)

try turning on the vacuum or a blow dryer to see if your little one settles with noise... just something to try out cause it absloutely mellows my daughter out and for the last 3 nights she has cried a lot around 5-6 in the evening and is hard to settle(i dont know why she is starting to do this but my mom said i would cry for a couple hours before bed when i was little...so maybe payback?) but anyway i HAD to vacuum the floor really quick and she was content and actually fell asleep!! and on that note when im trying to get ready i keep the blow dryer going and she chills in her chair(which also isnt her norm... she like to be held and moving)

thank you ladies.. ill def talk to the dr and try anything I can! I know some of the bottles are so expensive.. but hey if its gonna help I'm willing to spend whatever I have to! good luck to everyone and lesley keep us updated on ur babe :o)

I also meant to say for the gas problems that the bottles/nipples could be making it worse. My baby had problems with hers, she only likes to suck on the brown old fashioned rubber kind like they gave me at the hospital, but I can't find those in any store around here! I have bought some different ones to try. She makes a total mess when she eats with other nipples. Milk comes out her mouth while she's sucking and soaks her clothes/bibs. Its so annoying but the improper nipple could cause baby to suck down a lot of air as well. I'm still trying with mine with different ones. Bought some nuby non-drip bottles the other day and going to try those because it won't flow out the nipple unless she *****. I have heard mr browns work the best for gassy babies so I may have to go to the expensive ones!

I had problems with my little girl with gas/colic and she seems to be getting better now. Sometimes she will have bad days but I had to stop the gas drops as it stopped her gas from coming up altogether, it was super hard to burp her when I gave it to her and it made her pain worse so I discontinued altogether. I started putting half a tsp of rice cereal in her bottles and has helped tremendously. She now sleeps a lot better as well. But acid reflux and throwing up etc should be looked at by a dr.

I'm taking everything by the day as well and its hard somedays but its so worth it. She's growing so fast its unbelieveable. That rash sounds bad on your baby but id keep it as dry as possible around the area and keep it clean with every change and fresh ointment. Good luck with all y'all and yalls babies!

So i had a big paragraph typed up yesterday but i wasnt finished and had to stop to go to the kids and Clint got on the computer and exited out! so im gonna try to start over! lol

So i was thinking about the aweful gas pains and trying to think of any suggestions and then i remembered one of my friends was talking about one of their friends or family member that had to get a prescription formula from their Dr as their little one has dairy allergies and even the soy formula contains small amounts of cows milk in it (i really dont know for sure but if its true then this could be the reason why?) But if you havent tried soy formula yet i would start there first... also in this story the friend started feeding her baby rice cerial (im assuming rice) and the baby started having trouble again... and it turns out that the cerial has dairy in it as well...

Also my friends little guy was put on some type of medication for acid reflux because when he spit up it would come out his nose also but the main concern was he would get rattley sounding when he breathed so he was inhaling it and thats not good either... if this is happening i would for sure be bringing it up with your Dr cause breathing in formula is harder on their lungs then breastmilk and you dont want anything to start brewing in her lungs....

okay and as far as my little chick goes i have had her to the Dr here twice, the second time was for the eye infection but she checked out her bum at the same time, the first time the Dr called a dermatologist for advice and he/she said the same instructions that both me adn the Dr agreed on, and i talked to the pharmacist about any creams/ointments that i should talk to my Dr about that may be a better choice and she said the poly was as good as any ointment... and this week ill be going to the heath nurse for her needles so ill get their opinion as well... so at this point i am hoping that i am doing all i can do... i did decide that i would make sure to get her to the dr at least once a week for the Dr to see the changes as well and for reasurrance that i am doing the right thing...

I do. I have the little remedies one and this off brand one. it sometimes works but not last night! she screamed for 2 hours while I just tried EVERYTHING. I don't know what else to do. and it breaks my heart that she's in pain. my fiance even started to cry bc he felt helpless and hates her "pain" cry. so lesley I know how u feel with that one! although I'm sure ur situation is completely different. have you gotten a 2nd opinion? I just feel bad that there's nothing u can really do to fix it. :o(

Jnene have u tried gas drops? My daughter would wake up screaming bc of gas (toots) so every morning now I give her little remedies gas drops and she has been fine since.

Ya ive been pretty stressed lately and today has been a battle! For the last couple days ive been trying to tackle some major organization projects... i went thru every article of clothing from the last 2 years and sorted them by age and gto rid of whatever i didnt use with Allisa... So that was a big job to do in the first place, then you add on a really needy baby and a toddler that thinks she should "help" and there isnt much time left for the rest of the house... so my house feels out of control right now, Danielles bum has been getting the best of her today and we have had a few mean diaper changes where she screamed pretty bad, and she has bad diaper rash going from me trying not to touch the sore and wiping her bum so much... on top of that Allisa some how managed to poop on my floor(she did have a diaper on? lol) Clint wanted me to go to town and i had to hall these 2 girls to pick up tractor parts, the meat locker, grocery store, gas station and pharmacy! so that was enough stops of carrying a toddler and a car seat around... and when i got to town i noticed that i had spit up on my shoulder! lol like really? but anyway i do feel better now, the worst stresser is Danielles Bum... its gonna get so bad and after today im not sure how im every gonna handle this... but day by day!
Oh and i made it to my pre baby weight and am happy to say that im continueing to lose weight! YAY but tonight i had pumpkin pie! and it was AWESOME ;) totally kinda helped my day seem better :) oh and i forgot to add that i had just got the girls loaded into the car and.... my car was dead! so i had to wait for Clint to come back from the feild so he could push my car to the garage and hook up the charger... ya that was when i was my grumpiest... really didnt want to go to town especially after that! so glad its bedtime :)

oh my goodness girl u have ALOT going on. I hope both girls start feeling better soon :o) being a mommy is def more stressful than I thought! but like u said I'm trying to take each day as it comes. my daughter is very fussy and we've been having some issues with her belly.. bad gas pains, had to switch her formula and now shes throwing up and not able to breathe sometimes bc she chokes on it when it comes out of her nose.. I've had to actually turn her over and get it up for her a few times but other than all that she really is a very happy baby. and a good sleeper! this last week shes been staying up during the day and sleeping through the night!
