Ok I'm a ftm I have about two weeks until my due date and i can't wait!!! Well my question is how do you know your going into labor. I know about your water braking but how does it feel is it painful or no? And what exactly is a mucous plug?

My son is 13yrs old. With him, my water broke before anything else. I felt like I had to use the restroom (as usual) so when I sat on the toilet and went I realized I still had to go. When I looked down it wasn't urine I was looking at. It was cloudy looking. I sat down and more trickled out. That's when I realized my water broke. I made my way to the hospital right away and it wasn't til I got there (maybe 40-45min later?) that I started feeling contractions. They were sort of strong so kind of felt like period cramping but much more painful. It wasn't a gush all at once (although with some it may be) it was more like a slow trickle for me but it continued even after I got to the hospital and so did the contractions. If you've experienced Braxton Hicks contractions, its kind of like that but way more intense and it doesn't stop they just keep coming. I'm hoping for a smooth labor this time around as well. I hope this helps, good luck, I'm almost there too I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow :)

Every pregnancy is very different so its hard to tell you what to expect. My last was with twins and I went to 38 weeks then my water broke one morning as I got up. No pain took a shower then made breakfast while waiting on hubby to come take me to the hospital. Once we started driving that's when the contractions started to kick in something serious. Never lost mucus plug so I wouldn't know what to expect. This was a very easy labor as I walked a heck of a lot but its not like that for everyone. Good luck this will be a memory you will never forget.

I feel like a first time mom. My son is 12 yrs old and everything has changed. I was induced with him so never went into labor naturally I have checking for signs all the time because I just don't know what to expect.

I'm due in 3 weeks and I actually just asked my dr this on Thursday and she said some girls don't lose their plug or have their water break! Kinda scared me because I'm a ftm and now don't know what to expect! Guess it could just happen at anytime? Good luck hun <3
