abdominal pain while laying on back

Hi i am about 7 weeks pregnant and cannot sleep on my back. I feel a tightness accompanied by cramps when laying that way.is this normal?

Thanks, i tried rolling up a soft blanket too and it helps. Turns out i was severely constipated and i didn't know it! (I never really concentrated on my bowel mvmts lol)

Fyi, to ease constipation, i down 14 oz of prune juice every night..works wonders:) i know it may be the last thing u wanna do when nausuas (ugh:() but i close my eyes, think of 10 annoying teachers we had in high school and 10 seconds n 10 teachers later... it's down! (Eww i feel it comin up now ) lemonade can be an option too.

Its not actually good to slee on your back at all when your pregnant because it cuts oxygen off to your baby. Your also getting abdominal cramps when your on your back because there is a nerve back there that gets "pinched" when your pregnant and on your back. Drs reccommend really only laying on your back for sex. Hope that helps. Also try a heating pack on your stomach if you have to lay on your back. Heating packs will become your best friend

Try sleeping on your side or stomach. And if you do sleep on your back try propping up with pillows. As your get further along its not good to sleep on your back because of the pressure on the nerve on your back.
