Almost 35w and only gained 5 lbs! Anyone else?

I will be 35w on Thur. I went to the doc last Friday and I had lost 2 lbs, which set me back to a total of 5 lb weight gain at this point :( Has anyone else gained little weight like this and baby be ok? I eat and all that, so I dont understand. I noticed that I have lost weight in my face and top of my legs. My belly is measuring ok though, so thats good. Any one else? Thanks ladies!

I lost 4 kg during my first- second trimester but have gained it all back plus. I was/am fairly active and I know all the weight loss was "muscle". Muscle weighs more than fat so this makes it possible to lose or not gain alot of weight. Of course this also depends on if your BMI (body mass index) - weight for height was withing normal limits before pregnancy. My legs are much thinner now too.

As loong as your doctor is not concerned you are o.k

It depends on how big you were pre pregnancy.  I lost a pound with my daughter (gained nothing).  This time I have gained 3 lbs.  I am a little bigger to begin with though.  Not everyone is the same.

Check with your doctor to make sure all is well.  If the doc thinks everything is okay then I wouldn't worry.  I've heard of other women not gaining a pound at all.  I've gained 29 lbs. and I'm almost 34 weeks.....so enjoy and don't worry the baby will be fine.
