Cord around neck

When I had my 3d/4d ultrasound last week (30 1/2 weeks), the woman (this was not a doctor's office) showed me that the cord is draped around the baby's neck.  I can see it on the ultrasound pics also.  Its not tight but its definitely around her neck. Has anyone else had this?  I wasnt too concerned but after talking to some people, they seemed very concerned with it.  My daughters was wrapped around her neck and her heart rate dropped down to 30 when I was in labor and thats why I had an emergency c-section.  She had some other issues with her cord though also.  I am scared that it is around her neck this early.  I have an appt today so I am going to ask about it but would appreciate some of your comments also.  Thanks.

Glad to hear everything went well and that baby is doing fine! Now make sure you take care of yourself as well. Hope everything runs smoothly through delivery. :)

I went today and he said there is really no worry.  1 in 5 babies has the cord around their neck (my daughter did too).  He said it should be fine.  The baby is moving around fine lol very well.  I am just going to make sure I watch for a drop in movement.  He didnt seem worried about it at all.  I was told I have to take some iron pills (besides the pre natals) because my iron is low (could explain the almost passing out feelings I get when standing for long periods of time).

Kisstin, I'm not sure exactly what effect that would have on the baby while in utero but I would suggest you definitely call your dr even before going in today just to be on the safe side. Let him/her know what's going on and find out if it's something that should be treated urgently. I wish you all the best and hope to hear some good news soon. Keep us posted.

PS
Has the baby been moving around okay? Definitely call your dr if you've felt a decrease in fetal movement. Hope all is well.
