Braxton hicks???

Every now & then - in no spesific order my lower abdomen will cramp - it feels like my baby is pushing outward, I don't know how to describe this feeling, I'm numbed and when i put my hand over the area its very hard, I experience pain, sometimes it feels like the pain takes my breath away ... I have been through 2 normal delveries years ago (last one 15 yrs ago) I cant remember experiencing this then, could this be braxton hicks?

Sounds like braxton hicks to me, too.  With my first pregnancy, I didn't know what they were, and to me it felt like my baby's head was pushing way out and that particular part of my belly would feel hard like a basketball.  Then, I had one at the doctor's office and she told me it was braxton hicks.  This time around, I noticed it happening a lot earlier, since I knew what it was.  Sometimes it does make me take a deeper breath, kind of almost gasp a little bit.  They do sometimes hurt women, but I haven't really noticed too much pain myself.  As long as yours aren't getting stronger and closer together, you should be OK. :-)

I think that's what your having. I rarely hear ppl say they take their breath away and that's exactly what mine do to me. I can watch my uterus get hard when I am having them, but I get them all day and night. Hope this helps.
