bassinett or not to bassinett?

Anyone buying a bassinette? I'm in two minds. Some girlfriends tell me that u should put them straight in the cot, others tell me to use the one that came with my pram. Lady in baby store told me to buy one on wheels that has good ventilation. Don't think bub will be in it for long, so should I just make do or purchase one?

I am getting a bassinette and will get a crib later. Thats what I did last time and it was easier for me. I used the play pin in the living room.

We used the pack n play in our room at first and then had the crib in the nursery for my son and transferred him to his own room and to the crib at about 4 months old or so.  We'll do the same for this baby.  We can also take the pack n play w/ us on vacations and stuff a lot easier since it folds up, so it is a better investment than a bassinet in my opinion.

We got one as a gift - although I have a type of camping style cot - I think I'm going to use it only when needed ... I guess we will also have to see when Chalde comes home! Blessings

We bought one to use upstairs in our room because our stairs are steep and I don't want to carry a bassinet or pack & play up and down the stairs. So, our plan is bassinet upstairs(until he's a little bigger) and pack & play doenstairs. I was told not to buy one too because you won't use it. But, I wanted one so we got it. I guess we will see what happens when he comes home!
