She came via C-section in the early morning of Wednesday June 6th after 30 hours of very bad labor. If you remember I went into the hospital Monday night, so I only had 2-3 hours of relief from the epidural before they decided to send us for a C-section. Essentially, my labor stalled and I was running a pretty bad fever. It was actually at 104 during the surgery, so the baby got whisked off into the NICU and I ended up trapped at the hospital forever. I wasn't even in any shape to go to the NICU, so I didn't get to see her for almost 2 days, and had to fight the nurses sometimes just to try to get down there to breastfeed her. Not exactly what I wanted but...
All is well, we just got home yesterday (when my ex and I had our first fight, but that's another story) and I'm getting around pretty well. The baby is perfect. :)
She only cries when she's cold or has a dirty diaper or hungry, the rest of the time she either sleeps or just hangs out looking around with her big eyes ready for somebody to play with her. I hold her all I can, trying to make up for my lost time with her in the first few days of her life. She is my joy, and no matter what it took to get her here, I'd go through it all again in a minute. What a blessing we have, ladies.
I'm not having a lot of time these days, so am not sure how much I'll be online, but I wanted to thank you all for helping me to get through this. It was one of the tougher experiences of my life, and it would have been really hard without you all keeping me sane and answering all my questions. I wish you all the best with your own little blessings.
