I need a little help please!

I had a cerclage put on at 10 weeks due to two previous miscarriage at 22weeks before this pregnancy. I'm 24 weeks now and my cervix has still opened up a little, has this happen to any of you and if so what was the outcome?

I think only your doctor can check your cervix. I have heard of women checking, but I've had 4 pregnancies and have never been able to check mine. Your doctor will check it toward the end and he'll let you know where your cervix stands.

Thank you girls for all your help. I only know cause my doctor did a sonogram cause he wanted to check on my cervix and that's when he saw it.

How can you tell if your cervix is softening or opening?

I would take them seriously about the bedrest. As the uterus grows it puts more pressure on your cervix, and if you needed the cerclage it means they were worried about your cervix not being able to hold the baby in. I would guess if it was open more or you had active signs of labor they probably would hospitalize you, but if they told you to stay on bedrest, don't get out of bed or off the couch unless you have to. Laying down keeps pressure off the cervix, so should hopefully help keep it from opening more before it's too soon.

Congrats on your little girl; I'm having one too. :)

Sorry, I have not gone through that, but if you have any concerns it should be mentioned to your doctor. I miscarried one of my triplets at 16 weeks. The doctor refused to put in a cerclage and by 17 weeks I had my other two babies. Of course, the doctor said there was nothing they could have done to prevent me from dilating, but I'm sure they could have put in a cerclage. At this point in your pregnancy your baby can now survive. Make sure they know what they are doing, it's terrible losing a baby, especially when it can be prevented!!

Not me personally but a friend of mine had a cerclage that went bad during the procedure...she had several miscarriages prior as well, and said if that baby had made it the doctors likely would have bedrested her through the last few months at least. Have your doctors mentioned possible bedrest? You might ask if that's likely for you.
