There are some pelvid exercise they say you can do to reduce your chance of tearing. They are called kegal exercise (I think that's how you spell it), but you tighten the pelvic muscle for about 10 seconds and then release. You can keep doing those and no one will know =)

I find myself getting anxious about labor as well. This is my second pregnancy. My first was the best easy pregnancy never sick. I had 2 false alarms, but the 3 time was the charm. I went in since I was having contractions they gave me pitocin to augment my labor. I did it without pain medications and had him in 6 hours after I got to the hospital. I did have some tearing and had to get stitches. But everything went smoothly, went in not knowing anything about labor except horror labor stories and bugging everybody with questions of things I read from that horrid book, "What to Expect When Expecting"

This time around I've been doing research on how to not tear. I'm just go in there and be calm. I wanna do my best not to scream even tho it does hurt lol. Definitely would do it natural again (I hate needles lol).

As for men, they don't understand what we go through though I wish they did. My bd calls me sometimes and tells me "Oh I'm sooo sick I don't feel good. I think I gotta throw up." Their such big babies they wouldn't be able to handle the birthing experience. That's why God chose us to give birth.

lol... you girls ar funny!!! My husband does listen to me about my pregnancy.... It does surprise me, though, because with my last pregnancy he would just ignore me. This time he at least seems a little more interested and concerned about my problems.

This is my third and I am finding myself much more anxious about delivery this time around.  Instead of the fear of the unknown, it's the fear of the known.

I have to say that both of my births were pretty easy, I was definitely lucky in that.  The first I had an epidural, but the birth went so fast it wasn't worth it.  I had complications from the epidural and recovery was more difficult than the birth.  My second I had no pain relievers and my birth went quickly as well as my recovery.  I am opting for no pain relievers this time around as well, even though the pain was severe, it was immediately over after the birth and I was up and walking around with no complications.

I was also induced with my first 2, and am foregoing it this time around unless medically necessary.  If I labor fast and give birth in the car so be it...I am reading up on home births just to be prepared.  I understand that things can absolutely change, so I am open to whatever happens.  If I talk to hubby about my fear of the pain he tells me that our bodies are made to do it.  I could kick him.  I know he's trying to make me feel better, but here's a guy who is screaming in the bathroom if he has been constipated for 2 days.  Sorry TMI, but really, he's going to tell me don't worry about it??

Men never understand anything...
They feel a little pain and they feel like their dying.....=(Lol
I don't know about everyone else husband but when I want talk to my husband about the baby or pregnancy...he either gets bored or he say oh.., well...I don't know...I'm not a dr.....
But don't talk to my husband about UFC tap down or basket ball because his an expert.....>:(
Anyways
First baby gain only 10 pounds ...he was 19in 7lb 3oz...
I thought my first pregnancy was easy including labor and delivery...no pain relievers..
My second baby was a girl,,, I gain 20 pounds ... She was 19in 7lb 14oz.
Omg she was fat and she hurt soo much even with pain relievers...=(
Thats one of the reasons that I'm soo afraid too put on to much weight....I try not think about delivery cuz I'm gonna go crazy...My focus right now is in keeping this baby healthy for 52 more days...
Just keep nice and calm....then when the contractions come you could freak out...lol

You got to remember, every pregnancy, including labor, is different. There's no way to say this next labor will be better or worse. I have heard that the first labor is always harder, but I don't know if it's true or not. For me it was. My whole pregnancy was super easy, but labor was a whole different story. I ended up needing a c-section. Now with my second, pregnancy was a lot harder, heavier and more tiring.  Labor was easier though. I was schedule for my c-section for October 10th and ended up going into labor October 3rd. The hospital was an hour and a half away so by the time I got there, I was 6 cm. dilated. I was then rushed in to have my c-section. With this pregnancy, I am also feeling it more difficult and tiring. I just got to wait and see how labor goes (if I go into labor before my scheduled c-section).  Don't worry, you will be fine and just remember after all that pain, you will hold your precious baby =)
