My OB has been using the new test which takes fasting, 1hr, 2hr reading on the same day and you'll be done with it. It's 75g glucose load so not as bad as 3hr test which I believe is 100g load. You can chat with your OB about the alternatives.

You have to fast 8 hrs before your test that's water n food then you have to have 4 blood draws one when you get there then 3 every hour and you can't eat or drink or chew gum at all.. oh and something I learned if you ask for an alcohol wipe like what they clean you with before the blood draw if you feel nausea come get it at and sniff it I have heard from a ton of people it helps :) good luck

:-/ that's horrible. If you can go 1st thing in the am, that's best.. Where I get my blood work done it opens at 6 am, plus min waiting. On an empty stomach also best. Once you drink the "orange drink" don't eat anything, they even told me to not even chew gum, even sugerfree gum. I know that will be sooo hard. Have some food ready so as soon as they draw the blood you can eat :-). Good luck!!

You will do great!!! I couldn't handle all the sugary drinks and what not so they switched me to for a week to use the diabetic monitor to check mine it dosnt mean that I have it. It's just their only way to get a reading. I have also heard from lots of people who failed their one hour and passed their 3 hr with flying colors. Good luck and you will do great :)
