It's a personal decision either way. I being a RN plan on trying to breast feed bc I know the baby needs my antibodies from breast milk for immunity. But I am not anti formula either. I just say keep an open mind and at least try breast feeding once your little one is here. It helps with the breast pain,  bonding with baby,  colic etc. It's not for everybody so if you try it and don't like it switch to formula. But I think every mom should at least attempt to breast feed just for the simple fact your baby has no immunity when it's born and formula cannot give the baby that.

Im going to try i can only do it till i go back to work, but i at least want to try for that "first milk", first milk is supposed to be very beneficial to the baby

It's definitely a personal decision but most of these reasons not to are very selfish. I think once we have our babies the feelings will change. Dad's will still bond with babies. Plus all the money you can save and of course it's the way God intended it to be. Any mom can breastfeed. Peace, love, and joy. As long as baby is happy and healthy!

I'm pregnant with my first and have no desire to breastfeed. I think my husband and I should get the same parenting experience.  Not just that, I just really don't want to. Having to have a baby sucking on your boob all the time just doesn't sound appealing to me. And then to have to pump milk and have sore nipples. No thank you. Haha. Everyone has different opinions. But every time I tell someone I'm not breasfeeding, I get a huge lecture and people trying to argue about the benefits of breastmilk. The way I see it, is some women are unable to breastfeed and they use formula instead and those children turned out just fine. :)

Hi, I'm ftm also and not planning to breastfeed. My husband and I wish to share everything as much as possible, and our idea is to use formula and split the task between the 2, also giving him the same opportunity to be with his child. Bottle babies are also supposed to sleep longer at night, giving u a break to recover, specially if you have to go back to work soon after having your baby.

Im not going to as i had to much trouble trying with my daughter, i will be using a breast pump til my milk dries up, it dried up at around 3-4 months with my daughter, then i used karicare now called aptimal formula, formula is pretty expensive tho :/

I'm a ftm and I'm definitely breastfeeding for at least a year. Breast is best lol you get the bonding of skin to skin contact, breast milk is better for your baby than formula and its better for the mom because you recover from giving birth much faster. Plus its free..that's way cheaper than buying all that formula

I don't want to... My mom didn't with me or my brother and I think you can bond just as much if you don't.
