3-D Ultrasound

When is the best time to get a 3-D ultrasound done? I want to see what the baby looks like. I have never had this done with my other pregnanices. It cost $150.00 and is not covered by the insurance. So I want to make sure that I can actually see the baby.

best time is at 20 weeks. when the baby has actual body fat and you can see the roundness and cuteness in their little faces! people have done them before but the baby looks really skinny and sorta skeleton like. still cute though lol.

I want to get one done to & was wondering the same thing..I've heard the later the better because you obviously get a more developed baby picture..but if you wait too long is that bad?

I was just reading an article earlier today that said that some of the 3-D clinics really want you to wait until you've cleared your 2nd trimester screening at 20 weeks-- usually a detailed medical ultrasound that checks to make sure everything is developing well. I think I'd wait until about 24 weeks so the baby would have a bit of chubbiness. :) I'm not yet sure it's something we will do. Where we live it's really expensive.

I had my 3d-4d ultrasound over the weekend! It was AWESOME! We are having a boy!!!! I picked the package where I can watch him grow. I go back at 25 weeks... I can't wait... I will post some pictures tonight of my ultrasound so everyone can see!

I saw your picture & he is adorable! :) How exciting! Our anatomy scan is Wednesday & I've heard they're 3-D. Oh, I hope so :) Congrats!
