You and baby sound just right! I think all babies have there own routines and some are more active than others.... I remember my first being active ALL THE TIME... I swear that kid didnt get any rest! and now with this one.... He seems to be a little more calm and relaxed... he does have tons of active periods but does have times where he is just still and quite.... I think it just depends on the baby, all are different and the definitely do have there own sleep patterns and personalities this far along! I think as long as were feeling them through out the day then we should be fine! So no worries, you and baby sound right on track!
It really is sporadic .... I feel like she did not take a break yesterday at all - and went well into the night - like 1 am before she finally settled in. So I think I just have a babes that is a little unpredictable! ha!
Phin definately has his quiet days and then there are days where I am so sore by the time he eases up that it is ridiculous. My Dr doesn't have me do kick counts at all, I just pay attention every so often to make sure I feel him and then go about my day.
the dr's/midwifes don't ask us to keep a record of movement times in the uk anymore, as it can ust make you worry when theres no reason too. You may not feel movements for a number of reasons: you were busy at the time so didnt notice, the baby has move into a position where you can't feel it so much (you can't feel the movement around the whole uterus), orjust the baby is having a quieter patch which is also normal. Of course if you hven't feltthe baby for awhile, its always worth checking with your healthcare professional.
I sometimes like to move my belly around or prod her to move too when I haven't felt her in a couple hours. I am thankful that she has gotten so big because that means less pain on the movement for me! It still hurts...but it is getting less painful because I don't think she has the momentum or something.
That is funny your baby's legs are straight up! Mine are up but she is lying on her left side most of the time so her legs tend to kick my right side...and that can huuurrrrt. She sometimes straighten out her leg and you just see this lump where she is trying to get a good stretch! haha.
Everything I have read said that as babies get bigger they get less active. My friends said the same thing. As long as you are meeting your dr's minimum requirements for activity I really wouldn't worry. Sometimes I wonder if her hiccups should count for something...they do make me feel reassured whenever I hadn't felt her in an hour or so and then I feel her hiccups. :) But yeah...babies don't move every hour (they like to sleep too!) and they definitely have busy days and casual relaxed days.
thanks ovaz! It is so sporadic I don't know. Some days she moves too much I worry something is wrong. Then she has quiet moments and I think something is wrong. It's good to hear what other people are going through. Today has been an active day - but yesterday mellow. I guess I have a an unpredictable baby!
Sounds good to me! I talked with my OB about movement at my last appointment and she was saying that is just a generalization... not every baby is active like that inside the womb. I think I have a more quiet baby (which she says be leary of because those are the hyper-active ones outside of the womb!! hahaha... both my husband and I are pretty "hyper" people... guess we will see!)
So, I can go for 5-6 hours and really not feel anything. But, if I lift up from the bottom of my uterus, this ticks her off enough that she will move. So, I can physically make her move... try that it your little one hasn't moved in a while. Plus, you are getting bigger now... and it happens pretty fast. So, she really can't do ballet in there anymore. You will probably just feel pushes from now on. Atleast, that is primarily what I have felt the past 2 weeks or so.
