Blake rolls!

I just had to share this with you! Blake rolls from her back to tummy as well as tummy to back! She is such a big girl. :)

We had to quit swaddling her at night because she would try to roll over from her back to her tummy. We were worried that she would roll over on her face somehow and then be trapped because we swaddled her arms!

Anyways, we are very proud parents over here. :)

What was weird was just the other day she decided she was going to try back to belly. She would see a toy to her side and then she would just fling herself that way trying to get it! It was hilarious! And then she just progressed to rolling over all the way and pulling her arm out from underneath her.

Josh and I are definitely afraid we have an active kid! Which is GREAT but we haven't even thought about baby proofing our house. I guess we will have to get on our hands and knees and figure out what all to baby proof!

That's awesome!!!!  Now... get ready for crawling :)  You must be so excited!  Leighton only goes from tummy to back.  She hasn't even tried going the other way yet.  You might have an early mover and shaker on your hands.  Watch out!  haha

Toes

We just stopped swaddling her arms. She would try so hard to get them out and then if she didn't succeed she would almost roll over on her face so we decided it was time. We still wrap her legs in the swaddle but she has her arms free. The first night was kinda rough. She kept waking up! I would have to put her binky in her mouth so she would go back to sleep but she probably woke up like 10 times that first night. I just left her in the crib, I never took her out. I usually either put the binky in her mouth or let her fuss until she fell back asleep. The next night was muuuch better. She didn't startle awake as much. And then last night was just like normal.

I would definitely recommend trying it! It is kinda tough but honestly it has to happen sometime right?

Amy,

How did that go with the stopping of the swaddling?  We want to do it, because Brock busts out of it all now, and he wakes up so early!  He has only rolled a few times, so I'm not worried about that yet.  Did you just stop doing it?
