Fussy Baby

Can I say that I have the fussiest baby in the world?!  So, I've been thinking of changing formulas from the Similac Advance to the Similac Fussy/Gassy (orange one).  The ped. said not to because Brock sleeps through the night 8-10 hours and if he was uncomfortable he wouldn't sleep that long without waking up.  Okay, makes sense.  So, he toots a lot and we've started to hear his stomach all gurgly.  Tonight he projectile vomited on me...I'm talking "Stand By Me" barf-o-rama!  I believe we have to dry clean the chair parts now!  He has only done this a handful of times, so not very often.  Is it worth changing formulas?  Any advice from someone who has and why you switched?  Thanks!

I tried soy, and didn't do well with us. My son was real fussy, and got constipation 'cause of the soy. We're on Nutramigen (Enfamil, orange can). It's worked for us ever since. I think most babies are just naturally fussy or bored. My boy would be just fine if we were doing something w/ him 24/7 Lol.

Let me know if that works. I didn't try soy during our formula test. If it ends up working I may do another formula test with the soy.

Talked to the ped. today and she told us to try soy formula so we're going to give that a whirl!

Well I guess there is a 3 way tie for the fussiest baby. I am right in the both with you ladies. I actually switched to formual for about 4 days to see if the reason my little guy is fussy was because of my breastmilk. I tried the Enfamil regular (yellow can) and the Similac Fussy (orange can). Neither of them worked substantially so I went back to breastmilk. I guess I too just have a fussy baby. I took Jack to the doctor too and nothing too great came from the appointment. I seem to get conflicting information everywhere I go. My doc says taht he just needs to cry it out for the most part but other books that I read say that he is a high-needs baby and just needs to be carried all the time. Well since i am not a fan of the cry it out method since it hurts my ears and heart when he screams I went out and bought a sling. The book said it is a great way to carry baby and should be done for about 3 hours every day. Now only if mom could figure out how to use the darn thing we might be in business. ;) Jack will be 3 months tomorrow so I am hoping this phase will not last much longer. I am literally at the end of my tether with all the fussing and crying. Mom needs a break. ;)

Good luck ladies on finding the magical cure...if you do, please let me know. :)

I am right there with you! I thought I had the worlds fussiest baby! I finally just got fed up and took him to the dr.... they tested his stool and found blood (thank god i couldnt see it, probably would have freaked me out!!) so the dr said he was allergic to the formula i had him on... Similac Sensitive and SOY .... I had to change him to Alimentum its a hypo allergenic formula and it seems to have worked a little bit with his fussiness but unfortunately he is still just a fussy baby..... I think some babies just have the tendancy to be more needy than others... I would say it wouldnt hurt to try it out even though the ped says not too, my dr wanted to switch Noah to the alimentum before he found out that he was allergic to his other formulas bc it is known to help with fussy and colicy babies as well as work on his allergies... You might really see a difference in his behavior... I did see a little change in Noah but unfortunately he is still a bit fussy and every day I have to think of things to do to keep him happy and entertained... I swear i dont sit down at all he likes to be up and looking around and crys if I sit down... so your not alone! I feel your pain LOL and I say if there is a chance it can help him be less gassy and fussy then its worth a try..... it has almost the same ingridients as the other formula but just easier on the tummy so he wont be missing out on any nutrients! Good Luck
