Monday Monday Monday!

Phin- 5 weeks old.

He is starting to stay awake longer ad longer throughout the day which is nice. We love to play with him and Daddy picked out a wonderful toy yesterday, it is a seahorse that has a glowing tummy and it plays music. Phin loves it! We call it the hypno-seahorse. lol.

My Dad was here for the weekend to meet his grandson...needless to say he is madly in love with him and will be making a few more plane flights to visit us than usual from now on. Phin was on his best behavior the whole time. ^_^

Me-

I am counting down the weeks until this semester of school ends. I just want to stay home with the boy and enjoy him. Also it is no fun doing homework when Phin wants to play!

Leighton- 5 weeks old

We have no "routine" what so ever.  I am sooo confused on what to do.  It is kinda driving me nuts because I keep thinking "is this normal?"  "What does everyone else's day look like?"  This whole process to me is confusing.

We are still only getting about 2 hours of sleep at a time.  I am up with her roughly 3 times throughout the night.  It is incredibly draining for to be functioning like this for 5 weeks straight.  Any suggestions?

Leighton is 10 lbs now and is finally getting some "baby rolls".  She was just long and skinny there for a while!  (Wish I could say the same!)  I am 11 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight and am getting rediculously anxious to get it off!!!  Ugh... I just feel flabby.  Hopefully I get the okay from my doctor on Friday since it will have been almost 6 weeks since I had my c-section.

Blake is a month old! She will be 5 weeks on Thursday. She has a good night time routine down. She sleeps from 12-4 or 5 and then eats and then sleeps another 3 to 4 hours. We are excited to get those stretches of sleep! haha. She sleeps in her bassinett wonderfully. No problems there.
I was breastfeeding but she has a really bad allergy to milk and doesn't digest protein very well or something like that...she is on super expensive formula! (ugh) that will help her. She was having bloody stools and was totally freaking us out so we had to make the switch. I could continue breastfeeding if I completely cut out all dairy...milk, eggs, cheese...everything. I just didn't know if that was possible or if I accidentally ate something that had a trace amount of that in it...I would feel awful! :(
She has been super gassy lately too. Hopefully that is just transitional gas from her formula and not an all the time thing...Overall though she is a happy baby! :)

I am ready to be healed. (See my post about healing..) I am ready to work out!! I have been eating HORRIBLY! :( I crave sweets. I have 10 more pounds to lose before my pre-pregnancy weight but I don't know how to lose it. I guess I will start dieting hard core now that I don't have to worry about breastfeeding and how it affects her....

Mark will be a month old on Friday! He has grown so much- 3 pounds in 3 weeks! Last week Mark developed a respiratory infection and a double ear infection. He has been on antibiotics and a nebulizer and seems to be doing better now.

Breastfeeding is going beautifully- we will continue until he is ready to stop or when he turns 2- whatever happens first. In fact, I am nursing him while typing this sentence!

We are co sleeping with Mark right now and have no plans to stop anytime soon. We co slept with our first until he was 8 months old and had no problems with transitioning him at that time so we are not worried about it. We love sharing a bed with him, and in the morning when Micah awakes he joins us- thank goodness for king sized beds!

As for me, I am almost down to my pre- pregnancy size and weight- like 10 more pounds to go! I exercise for 2 hours a day- it helps me feel better.

LOL we can finally see his eyes ;-) He is still a little turned around and get up about 2-3 times a night.... He does seem to be a little fussy tho, every time he is awake he thinks he needs to eat LOL and when i cant give him the bottle bc he just ate he gets fussy... He loves to eat LOL.... The baby is sleeping in his crib most the time now but does sometimes end up in bed with me and DH in the early hours!

I am a little tired all the time lol but other than that i am good.... I dont think i remembered how hard it is to go without sleep lol..... I am going to start a new diet sometime this week and hopefully help kick start my weight loss.... I have 30lbs to go! I am not bleeding any more but am having a little discharge here and there...I agree with you ladies!!! I cannot wait until my who ha is back to normal again....

Jack is a little over 3 weeks old now and about 11 pounds. It has been a very slow 3 weeks. I guess getting use to a baby's routine is a bit more taxing than I originally thought but we are making it through. He is definitely more alert nowadays and awake for longer stretches. The bad thing is that when he is awake he is always fussy. We don't seem to be able to enjoy the quite alert stage just yet. It makes it hard for me to do anything around the house when all he does is cry. Though when I pick him up all the world is good. He might be spending lots of time in the Baby Bjorn here soon if his moods don't change. ;) Feeding is going well. Trying the breastfeed exclusively either directly from the source or from the bottle. We have supplemented with formula a few times. We find it makes him less gassy and we get a longer stretch of sleep at night. I plan on breast feeding through January. If I can make it to next March that would be great, actaully it would be a miacle since I am already getting tired of it after 3 weeks. ;) I am sure once we get into a good routine then things will get better.

He is finally starting to sleep in his bassinette. We started off with him sleeping in our bed then moved him to his bouncy seat and now to the bassinette. I am glad that transition went fairly well.

As for me I am doing good. Trying to shed the last 15 pounds before my early May birthday (I lost the first 30 pounds in a week and a half). I have been bad and started to work out just a bit. I walk on the treadmill for about 30-45 minutes a day. It wears me out a bit but I feel good buring those extra calories. I am still experiencing the bleeding. It is really light. Only using a panty liner but I am so tired of it already!!!

hi everyone ...
Hayden is 3 weeks today - I am guessing she is about 8.5 lbs now - last week the lactation nurse came and she was just under 8 lbs. She grunts when she sleeps and "toots" quite a bit! Guess I have a gassy baby. She eats quite a bit - and my breasts feel much better than the beginning - but still sore. Everyone is so ra-ra on breastfeeding - but to be honest, I am not sure I am in love with the whole process. I have happy that I can give her the best nutrition - but it really becomes your life. I plan to stick with it for 4 months - but happy to pump and serve, too. Am I totally alone on this?

Oh - b/c she is breast fed, the pediatrician says we have to give her poly sol vi multi-vitamins. I HATE THE SMELL. Plus it stains. It is a liquid-based multi-vitamin administered via a dropper - it stains and must taste horrible. Everyone else doing this? It is for vitamin D - b/c our bodies do not make as much b/c of sunblock, etc. I'd love to not do this - but I know it is good for her.

She sleeps in our bed or in her papasan chair on vibrate - sometimes in the basinette - but we need to get the crib routine down soon. Recommended a book called Babywise for developing a schedule.

For me - not too tired, feel good - but will this GROSS pregnancy discharge EVER END???

Mady is 1 week old today.  She basically sleeps and eats all day long.  Nigttime she ony wakes once or twice to eat, but she is still in bed with us, which we are trying to change.  The dc said to put her in the craddle and let her cry it out, this is sooo hard to do.  Anyone else do this????  How did you get them to be comfortable by themselves?

Out of curiosity how long does everyone plan to breastfeed for?
