We are not taking classes. Chris works odd hours and we couldn't find anything that fit for both of us timewise, so we decided to wing it. I figure no matter how prepared we are for the birth that all that preparation would fly out the window anyway. We deal with everything much better the more unprepared we are ^_^
I have remained certified for CPR since the days of babysitting so I have no wories there and we have 7 nieces and nephews that we have watched grow and helped to care for so we both are quite comfy around infants. Any questions can be answered by the pediatrition, MIL or SIL's...
The only help I will seek out is breast feeding as none of the women I know that have had children breastfed.
We are now signed up for "Great Expectations" an 8 hr class with breathing, videos, tour of hospital, etc.
In addition, I am going to take the breast feeding class and infant CPR - which my DR recommended.
Yes... in fact, our first class begins Saturday! We are also taking the above mentioned classes that Amy is. :) I guess I am the over prepared type!!! Plus, I am having my parents attend the infant CPR class since they will be Leighton's baby sitters :)
Yes, we are definitely taking a child birth class.... havent been pregnant for 10 years LOL but i dont think you ever really forget :-) I would love a refresher course tho.
we are taking a "taking care of baby" class, "delivery" class, "breastfeeding" class and "infant CPR". I am such an information freak. I love classes and anything hands on as well as lectures etc. So yeah...totally over doing it I am sure but this is our first so we are going to do the whole thing this time and see how we feel for baby number 2.
Well, I voted No yesterday and didn't have time to write. Everytime I sign up to take the class I go into labor, lol so i'm not going to bother!
we took the first part of the prenatal glasses my hospital offers during my last pregnnacy before i lost it, so now we just have to go learn about our options, get the tour of the hospital, watch the video lol
