Ugh

I was up at 4 am this morning in absolute pain radiating from my back around to my front on the right side and down through my hip.  *TMI alert* I waddled to bathroom and had a lot of loose BM. I then showered and just stood there letting the hot water hit my back. I had a Dr appointment at 8:30 so I just stuck it out and finally woke up Chris arund 7 to get ready. At this point I was weeping and having contractions every 8-10 minutes.

When we got to the Dr I was still in tears and moving quite unsteadily and slowly. They did a urine test and found a small amount of blood but no protein and a cervix check showed 1 for dilation. The Dr has banned me to a wheelchair for the rest of the pregnancy, only if I am out and about. I can be up on my own while at home. He also gave me a pain pill prescription that I am to take for the weekend. He basically wants me asleep for the next couple days.

He is concerned that my hip is going to be a big issue when it comes time for labor which is why he decided against induction today. But maybe by next Friday if I am dilated more they will go for an induction to hopefully get this baby out safely.

Thank you ladies for all the kind words.

The blood was such a small amount it could have been the beginnings of the mucos plug loosening. It wasn't visible to the eye only to the machine that ran the test.

I am still having steady contractions, just with the pills...I don't really feel the brunt of the pain. Phin doesn't seem to be affected at all by them and has been happily hammering away at my hips and cervix all day.  The pressure is crazy. I hope this baby makes it out of me soon...

hmmm, sounds like early labour to me. Back pain, raidating hip pain, loose bm, and the contractrions. I bet he just doesn't want to deliver over the weekend. Do you have an exercise ball at home, i bet sitting on one might help with the hip pain

Oh wow!  I hope you are ok.  What caused the blood in your urine though?  That is scary!!  Well, hopefully your hip doens't cause problems during labor.  What a bummer... I can't remember if you said you were going to try and labor naturally or not, but maybe an epidural would ease your hip pain during labor?

Good news is.... you will probably meet your little man sooner rather than later!!  :)  And he is fully cooked now, so you won't have to worry ;)  Keep us posted!

Oh no...! That does not sound like fun..at all. I hope the hip thing doesn't prove to be a problem. I have heard that the back pain can be a precursor to labor but apparently not since you saw your dr right away. :(  That stinks...I bet you are even more ready now to get that baby out of ya! I know I am ready but fortunately I haven't had the pain as badly as some of you guys.

Good luck with the wheelchair...just pretend that you are a queen in a chariot or something..ha. Well at least now you can be doubley doted on by your husband...being Valentines AND you are taking a beating for carrying his child! :)
