No is a Fist, Finger, thumb, hand s u c k e r LOL what ever he can get in his mouth... he DOES not take a binky and will put anything he gets in his hands in his mouth but will soon drop it and just go to town on his hands LOL, I think its just a phase and they will eventually grow out of it without any real problems!

YES Hayden does take out her binky with her hand - it is so funny b/c she wraps her fingers around the little handle part and pulls it out and puts it back in....but then she usually retires from that game and s u c k s her thumb...

Carter is spittin gout his nuk and sucking on his hands/finger/thumb. I would rathre him use the soother because you can take it away, but i don't want him using that all the time either.
The other night he woke himself up trying to get his thum/fingers

everything he holds (which is not much) now goes directly to his mouth (well face) and he gets his bib in his mouth a lot too. We have to keep him in a bib all the time he drools so much, i had to buy bibs with plastic as he would soak through one in an hour. Better then changing his shirt 10 times a day, but i hate covering some of his cute outfits with a bib

Blake sticks everything in her mouth. She was lying next to her cousin (who is 6 weeks younger) and she kept grabbing her hand and trying to put it in her mouth! haha She ***** on anything that is even close to her mouth. We went to Toys R Us today to get a mosquito net for her carrier and she was just STARING at this doll.  So I give it to her. The first thing she did was smash it into her face (like she was nuzzling it or something) and then she went to town sucking on it. So..yeah...we bought it. :)

Does anyone else's baby take their binky out? Blake will grab it (she has a Nuk so there is a handle) and then she will try to put it back in. She nearly has it...but she can't line up her mouth and hand just right yet. Sometimes she will get it but I think it is on accident  :)

Oh, I forgot to add... she has been sucking her thumb since she was in utero.  Almost every ultrasound we had done, we have a photo of her sucking her thumb.  The first time we were able to get it on ultrasound was 12 weeks.  So, she apparently has been doing this for a while :)

Leighton is.  I am not worried about it.  If she is 3 or 4 and it is still going on, then I will need to do some "intervention".  But, our pediatrician says that most kids grow out of it.  She likes her nuk, right thumb, and anything on the left hand... fingers, fist (she will gag herself something too!!!)

Mady is a thumb, fingers and fist sucker.  Really anything she can get into her mouth she likes besides a nuk.  She will take a nuk but spits it out usually after about 10 *****.  I am not to worried right now, but will definately stop it soon.  My sister watches a kid who s u c ks 2 fingers and has messed up teeth and fingers.   EWWWW.  But right now she can sooth herself with it so I am nit complaining.

Mark totally s u c k s his thumb, and he refuses a binky! I talked to my parents about it (they are dentists) and they said that at this age it is virtually impossible to to stop them. They told me to just discourage it because it can eventually make his palette deformed (it would make him have buck teeth). So I just pull out his thumb whenever he starts sucking on it.
