Weight at 34 weeks

I had my 34 week growth ultrasound today. The lady told me that my baby is a bit small, weighing about 4 pounds 4 ounces now. She said this is a little small especially compared to my last children. She also said about my amniotic fluid "is isn't a generous amount". Im just wondering whether anyone else's babies where this size at 34 weeks and what they were when they were born. Also if anyone has an idea about the fluid. I have made an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Thankyou :)

Well I went to my appointment today. My midwife said that at the rate she is at she will be about 3 kilos (i think about 6lbs 6oz) which isn't really small. They said fluid levels should be between 8 and 25. Mine is at 10.5 which isn't bad.

They are sending me for another u/s at 37 weeks to make sure there isn't less fluid and that the baby has grown. They said her head is measuring for 30 weeks.

Weird cos my first son was 8lb 3oz and my second was 8lbs 13oz so she will be small for me lol.

And faye83 yes im hoping that because this one is smaller she will come out without breaking anything too lol.

Well I just had an ultrasound yesterday (at 32w4d) and the baby was weighting 4 pounds already. Doctor said that was fine and she's going to be between 7 and 8 pounds when she's born. I dont care how much she weights as long as shes healthy and can get out of my hoohah without breaking anything or making me have a c-section lol
I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I agree with mamaofonetrying42.  If they were concerned with the levels they should be watching you closely.  And the ultrasound could be off a pound.

With my last son, I had an u/s and 32w and he was already 5lbs1oz then another u/s at 36w he was 5lbs 10oz.. Born at 39w he was only 6lbs 10oz...

I go this Thursday for another u/s with this pregnancy and I will be 33w, I'll let you know what they say....

They could be off by a pound, I really wouldnt worry, until they start to worry....As far as the fluid goes, if it is starting to look low I would think they would keep a better eye on you and the baby, and prob tell you if you "feel" like you are leaking anything to come in...They might have you do weekly or 2x a week NST's and maybe bi-weekly u/s?

Let us know how everything goes.
