Where's everyone having their babies?

We are planning on having our baby in a birthing center as long as she flips from a breech position...we are 34 weeks now.  We had our first baby at a hospital with an OB and resident, I had an epi and pitocin with lots of nurses and bright lights DH my mom and SIL were there.  Our second daughter was also born at a hospital but with only an midwife, one nurse and DH.  The lights were dim, I did have pitocin but no pain meds.  So hoping to have a water birth this time with my DH, SIL and daughters present.  What about everyone else?

My midwifes won't touch me if she's breech and my insurance won't pay for the only Dr in our area that will deliver the baby breech. So if she doesn't flip my only option is a section. I do have a version scheduled for next Wednesday so I hope that does the trick.

Hi,

have you tried a chiropractor or a craniosacral therapist.  They can often help in turning the baby.

My baby was breach, but my wonderful craniosacral therapist got her turned.

Actually a breach baby should not be a reason to have a cesarian, or even a reason not to have a water birth.  Do discuss this with your doctor further.  Some doctors are also skilled at helping baby to turn.

Best wishes

Yeah I just took it one contraction at a time with my last and was able to have her naturally...no pain meds at all.  It was such an awesome experience, I'm really looking forward to it again, I just need to get this little girl to flip or I'll be stuck with a c-section...SO DON'T WANT THAT!!!

This is our first baby and I'm planning on having her in a birthing center as well. We had thought about a home birth, but it being our first time we decided the birthing center was a good compromise - also we don't have to rent a tub for our home. I am going in with the strong intention of no meds - but we'll see what happens in reality :)

I would always choose and recommend midwifes from my last pregnancy forward...as long as it's medically safe.  This will be my first experience in a birthing center though so we will see how that goes...so far I love everything about it and am really looking forward to it.  It's very small and very home like. I think if everything goes well with this birth and we decide to have another I would really think about a home birth :-)

I'm having as the hospital but with a midwife. I'm hoping for as little intervention as possible medication wise, but I like knowing its right there if I can't handle it. But so far I love my midwives and am so happy I went that route!
