too much amniotic fluid?

Today at my high risk appt I got a couple concerning news. The doc kept asking me how my blood sugar test went, mentioning that there was a higher amount of fluid than normal. Also he mentioned about my contractions, suggesting I might be close to labor. I'm only 33 weeks and scheduled for a c section march 21. Any ideas whythe fluid would be high

Unfortunately we know all to well what happens when they come too soon, my first daughter was born at 26 weeks and after a few months in the hospital she was fine, but we got lucky about it. Now I'm still further but not close enough lol

I sure hope that bed rest does the trick for you. The longer baby can stay in there, the better.

Well its not the fluid now, I'm having high bp and protein and contractions so my high risk doc put me onto level 3 bed rest (no activity unless bathroom) so now we are waiting to see if everything calms down. :-( hoping to get through this next 4-6 weeks quickly lol.

What happened? I sure hope everything is okay with your baby! I was reading that if you have too much fluid they tend to watch you more closely and sometimes deliver the baby sooner. I pray that all is well.

I guess it really doesn't do any of us much good worrying about stuff. Cause really there is nothing we can do to change anything. Guess we just have to hope and pray that all works out in the end.

My Dr didn't really say concerned but he did make sure he mentioned it twice. I was just wondering what it could be from, and if any concern than what

I am 35 weeks on Friday and I just had my high risk appt today, my fluid ishigh 16 i believe they said, cervix closed at 3.7 and she is weighing 4 pounds 14 onces. They said everything is great! No concerns about fluid or weight. They said it was right on target. Not sure why the drs are telling you they are concerned about alot of fluid or the weight at your stage.

Well your due date is 2 days before mine and weight is close in comparison, so i don't think you have too Much to worry about. I know I have " smaller" babies but they are still healthy.  This baby is right on track with my second and she was born 2 weeks before my due date and weighed 6 lb10 oz so I think, unless he doesn't put on weight, you both will be fine.

Mmm, did she tell you the size of the baby? Mine according to my appt yesterday was 4 lb 10 oz which is in the 50%
and I have read that if there is too much fluid it could also mean the baby is not swallowing right. I'm a little nervous since this is my third and hadn't had this prob before.

Hopefully it is nothing serious if you have too much fluid. I know it isn't good if you don't have enough, don't know about too much.
I saw my obgyn yesterday and I was hoping to schedule my cesection. But she told me the ultrasound last week should my baby to be on the small, but normal side and she wants me to carry him full term. She would prefer if I would be willing to go into labour, then have an emergency csection so he has a chance to grow and catch up. The earliest she would consider is doing a csection on march 20th. Which is 5 days before my due date.
I am wondering if I should be concerned that he is small....
I wish they would tell us more info when they tell is these things, should we be worried??! Or should we not??
