too many ultrasounds

Hey girls

I'm kinda freaking out. First pregnancy, and i just saw on the news that too many ultrasounds are bad. I've had 4, and 1 out of the 4 was the 3d ultrasound. I'm not planning on having anymore unless a complication arises obviously. Should i be worried that I got too many? !; ( hoping baby will be OK!

3D gives beautiful pictures of baby. Intensity of waves might be more and from different places in the probe to make 3D image. Thats scary part, but good thing is they use computer grapics to estimate the 3D image. This is good research topic.

Nonetheless i will stay away from the temptation to see my baby via ultrasound and let him grow peacefully (since its normal birth)

I think if your US is coming from your doc's office it is safe & medically necessary.  Your OB doc is not going to order US for the heck of it.  I'd be worried about those US that are given at a mall or at locations that are not medically accredited.  Who knows what kind of medical training those people received?  They are selling you a product vs. screening you/medically checking your baby.

In a hospital or clinic setting the employees are background checked, education verified, held to accreditation standards. I don't know what they do at those 3D/4D commercial places and I'd be wary.

I'm high risk due to diabetes. I'm 26wks I've had 7 ultrasounds so far and my drs will be doing twice a week ultrasounds from 30wks till delivery. I have them at both my ob office and I see a perinatal specialist that does more detailed n lengthy ones along with 3d images as well. If it was harmful I don't think both drs would be doing so many seeing how I am already high risk.

Mine is everything normal. So went only for few ultrasound in 6 months. Went 4 times-
1. To Detect i m pregnant at 6 weeks.
2. Doctor appointment 12 weeks
3. Anatomy and gender 16 weeks
4. 3D at 24 weeks
Planning one more (depending on situation) at 38 weeks.

I am cautious about the waves entering my baby. I have also bought Radiation protection clothing.
