folic acid and being sick

well the clue is in the title! ive been taking pregnacare folic acid since i found out i was pregnant so for about 6weeks, ive been having alot of sickness mainly in the evening after my tea, also i take the supplement on a full stomach so after my tea, then ive been going to bed an throwing up a few times in the night. ive recently tried not taking the supplement in the evening and at lunch time and still have the same problem of being sick and hour or so later, so now ive stopped taking it and havint had any sickness since! what do you think i should do?will it make any long term side effects for the baby if i dont take it? or does anyone know any other brands of folic acid? :)

why don't you just take a prenatal vitamin or a multivitamin they come with folic acid, it may make you sick but is recommened with women who are expecting.

Well this is the first time I have taken folic acid with my pregnancy and this is the sickest I have ever been... fortunately no throwing up just gagging alot, so there maybe something in that.  If you are young with a good diet there is no need supposedly for them, I think it's more for women like myself who are getting that bit older for having babies, but ask the midwife she'll know better!!
